Can you guess what this means TN TLC????????????

With this past weekend behind us and it being a huge success, and there is talk about getting something together for the West TN area. So I have been a thinking............I know........I know........Cheryl thinking, wow that's a first................LOL

This is what I came up with. We can have events all over the state of TN and if this pan's out heck we might even want to expand to other states. As always it would be open to anyone and everyone, doesn't matter which surgery, doctor, hospital, state, stage of journey, patients, supporters, family, friends, spouse's, partner's, kids, etc. There may be on occasion that we might do a just adults and maybe get a little dressy but most would be for anyone/everyone.

I thought we could call it the TN Traveling Loser's Club, (TTLC) kinda catchy (sp) I think. I am thinking of maybe starting either a blog or maybe even website (might need your help on that Scott)  if I get a good response from everyone.  We could have a calendar of events, information, suggestion of events, photo's of the events, if someone knows someone that can get free or discounted tickets, etc.  We could also list the times and places of the support groups that are allready in place, etc.  We might even be able to form a cruise in a couple of years, I think that would be a blast for sure. We are going on our first cruise next year and I can't wait. I know that Sherry and her DH are also taking one next year, so they can give us some input also. We could plan it way out in advance, to give people time to pay and make all the arrangements. We have been paying some on ours and we have until next August to paythe balance before we go in Nov. Luckly my mom and step-dad are helping us out with some of it. Sorry didn't mean to get off track. You see it is 3:00 in the morning and I can't sleep,  instead of being jet lagged I think I am mountain lagged........lol..but it's all good. If some areas allready have a monthly event we could possibly join them or heck we could plan our own. I allready have some ideas for the next one. Let me know what you think about the idea and any suggestions that you have. I need 411 on area's of TN to go to. Do we make these day trips? Do we make them weekender's? I can get a list of everyone's birthday, surgery dates and we can include those in our events. If driving is an issue, then I'm sure that we can come together and carpool with each other. We can even think about doing breakfast events, where if some wanted to make a weekend out of it, go on Friday night do there on thing, stay the night, then join up with everyone on Saturday morning for breakfast and then drive back home, there are so many options that we have. We can do restaurant's, site seeing, ball games, sporting events, fairs, festivials or just getting together somewhere and just talking and getting to know everyone better. The ideas are endless. You give me the ideas, and I can make the arrangements. I will try to keep the price of events as low as I can. Depending on the event, I would like to try to keep the price to $10 pp or lower.

Time: TBD (probably like 1:00 or 2:00)
Why: To have a blast,support each other, give suggestions, clothes swap, etc.

I have contacted the Casey Jones restaurant, there in Jackson. They have several options as far as rooms. They have some private rooms, but some of them require a fee to reserve and or have restrictions. We have called and left messages and we hope to hear back from them later today. They also have several options as far as menus, hot box lunches, buffet etc. I will post again after we have talked to them. If you want to know more about this place you can check out their website at www.caseyjones.com After I talk to them I will post more details.        
I have also contact the hotel right next to the restaurant and they have rooms available for that night for $39.99 per room plus tax with double occupancy. So if anyone would like to make it a over nighter that options is available. As far as the hotel, for now just PM me if you are interested in that and I will give you all the 411.

Nothing is set is stone as of yet, I wanted to get everyones input before I done that. The 22nd is the weekend before Thanksgiving,  oh and it is also the weekend after my birthday that I will be in the 40's for the last time..........lol.........It should not interfer with the holidays that next week. We may want to for go the Nov Dinner Club and maybe the Lunch Bunch if this is a go, just a idea to help everyone with money issues, Alyssa and Susan can make that decision. I'm not sure if they have decided about the Dec events or not. Since there will be so many other partys and things going on not to mention our 2nd Annual Christmas Party on the 12th @ 7:00pm (keep watching the board for more information on that) via Ms. Beth.

So ya'll let me know your input and if ya'll think this is a good idea/place/time whatever. I am looking at it like this, we done the East Tn, let's do the West Tn and then we all come back together to Middle Tn for the year end blowout.

Also, be thinking about events that we can do for next year and let us know. Hint......Hint I have allready been thinking about a Valentines event, but still tossing that one around my head. Any ideas on that one, please let me know.

Glad you are on board with this. Just get the word out to everyone you know on your end. If you attend support groups, pass the word around there also. I will keep you posted on the progress of this. Thanks for your input so quickly.

Sounds good, we have several other resteraunts in the area if you would like other suggestions.  The food at Casey Jones is like old country cooking, you know lots of sugar, butter and lard.  It is good, but not so good for you.  We have a Barnhills, several good Mexican places, and others but whatever is decided I am all in since I live in Pinson (only 10 to 15 miles South of Jax).

Actually Cheryl, its funny you should mention this.  I too have big dreams and ideas sometimes...  in that I don't share them because afraid of what others will think.  I was thinking just the other day, what if we had a lunch bunch going on in 3 locations over TN, and had the ability to have live satellite so that we could all see one another! How great would that be?  And then I thought, it would be good if the traveling group would go help start other lunch bunches, so we are on the same wave length.  

Having said that, I would like to add that I don't want to be part of the traveling group! Is that ok?  I don't like traveling all that much.  And if I do, its very private with just me and Tim, or back in the day before Tim, it included Mike.  We are homebodies so we don't really visit much.  But I think this is a wonderful idea.

I think it is a good idea also.  I'm in Memphis and interested in meeting too.  Will have to check with hubby as he usually works on weekends.  Keep me informed in case it works out for us.
