First East TN Lunch Bunch

Good Morning all!

I would have to say our first east TN lunch bunch was an unqualified success!  We had a great time.  Spouses and children came, we ate great food that my husband prepared and great sugar free desserts that I had created.  Sue brought the most delicious salad, and the rest of the Nashville crew brought a great big tossed salad.  It worked out great, even if it was a little warm for east TN!  Bless Shelia and Betsy's hearts, they brought me a floral arrangement and an ivy plant respectively.  They are awesome!  It was great to get to know the east TN folks a little better.  We met Nancy and her husband for the first time, and found that they live on the SAME mountain as I do!  She is preop and awaiting a date.  We met Betsy and her delightful family for the first time and really bonded!  But, the best bonding of the day was between my hubby and Shelia's.  They were immediate friends!  Here is our lineup picture.  Beth got the weight loss count, but I forgot to get the exact number from her.  Hopefully, she will post it when she gets home.  I do remember it was over 1200 pounds!  We also want Baboo to know that you were in our thoughts and prayers as well.

Well, east TNr's, I believe we can start our own Lunch Bunch and invite any preops, or other Loser friends to it.  Let's get some suggestions going for where and when for the next one!

Marilyn,

Thank you for opening your home and kitchen to us.  Your house and view were beautiful.  The food was great!  As we were pulling out of the driveway, Zac (Stacy's oldest) commented that going down was a lot quicker than going up.

Thanks again, Marilyn, for a wonderful East TN Lunch Bunch day!

Hi, dear,
Dail and Nicholas and I had a wonderful time. I felt really at ease even though I'm usually uncomfortable around a lot of people. Everyone was great and I'm so glad we came. On the way home, Dail made the comment that all of you are just wonderful people and he is looking forward to getting to know everyone better. He tends to be a little shy in groups too. I'm sorry we had to leave so early. My daughter, Kailee had been away from home for a while. She had almost decided to move out and I was anxious to get home to talk to her. Everything worked out fine and she is going to continue living with us for a while.
As to the next Lunch Bunch meeting, we are up for it. I'm not sure what you have in mind. But please let us know. I know sometimes the Nashville group meets at Logan's. I'm assuming that is Logan's Roadhouse. We have one in Sevierville that we could try. Dail took me to the Logan's in Johnson City the other night and there seems to be a lot of choices on the menu. It is just an idea. I don't know if you wanted to do it in Sevierville again or in Knoxville. The possibilities are endless. Please keep us posted on the developments. Maybe Nancy and her husband will have some ideas.
Marilyn, thanks again for inviting us to your home. Your house is beautiful and so is the location.
Blessings,
Karen

Looks like everyone is all smiles!  And so another support bunch is born!  I'm so glad that ya'll had such a wonderful time!  I wonder what the total of both groups will be?  When we get the west TN group going, we can have a state total each month and post all of the pictures!!!!  I klove my peeps!

Kisses!

Dear Marilyn,

It was so wonderful to meet you, Ron, Sue, Sheila, Cheryl, Betsy, Stacy, Phil, Karen, Dail, Tina, Beth and Scott!!  Hope I didn't forget anyone..  I don't think Bleu and I have ever felt so welcome by folks we had never met before.  The food was delicious, the weather was perfect, even the leaves in the salad (lol), and the information on my future life were "totally" eyeopening.  I feel much more comfortable about the future and my surgery.  If I could bottle you guys, I would carry you with me!

All I can say is thank you again and I bet the rest of the Tennessee groups are just as nice.

It looks like everyone had a fantastic time!  Sorry that I didn't get to make it.  However, I look forward to seeing you all the next time.  Marilyn, I hope you got my pm that I wasn't going to be able to make it.

Thanks,

Ashley,
I did get your message and completely understood.  We are going to try to meet at a restaurant next month sometime.  Probably in Knoxville this time.  Any suggestions?

Good, I wanted to make sure you got the message, didn't want to just not show up!  Is there a type of restaurant that works best for these lunches or a location that is best?  There are alot of places on Chapman Highway, near John Sevier Highway now adays.  That may be a good meeting place kind of in between Blount Co / Sevier Co and Knox Co peoples.  I know there is a Ruby Tuesdays there and Bayou Bay seafood, but not sure what else.  Alcoa has quite a bit (Applebees, Texas Road House, Ruby Tuesdays).  Then Turkey Creek has anything and everything.

Ok, I did a really good job dwindling things down.... yeah right!
