Finally got in ALL my protein and fluids yesterday without throwiing up or having dry heaves!!!!  Better yet half of my protein came from actual food and not liquid protein.  Michael, I tried your hamburger pie recipe for dinner and it was great.  It was the first time I have had any ground beef since June (before my surgery).  I felt really well yesterday and got a lot done around the house.  Today I've already been hard at work cleaning my kitchen.  I hope I have gotten past that phase I was in and can get back to exercising and preparing good meals.  Thanks for all the help this board has given me in trying to figure out what was going on.  Still don't know what caused the problem but I'm just glad that for right now it's gone!

Baboo

As early out as you are, ground turkey meat would be better.  Its more easily digestible, won't cause stomach upset, and calories/fat etc are lower.  I couldn't have beef for 6 mos per the surgeon.  While the beef might not have caused any distresses this time, it could in the future.  Beef if hard to digest.  Just a thought.

Yes, I made the recipe last night with ground turkey.  Sorry I should have said.

I've always used the ground turkey, because Kroger will put it on sale for 1.99.

I add some cayan pepper, and it is really good (I added a little more then I usually use, and it is spicier then normal!!)

Good to see that you are now starting to do better.

Missed at Tuesdays Support Group meeting.  Hope to see you again next month.

I like the Perdue turkey meatballs.  First time I ever got them, I put on some low sugar spaghetti sauce, a little bit of mozarella cheese and ate 1/2 of a meatball.  I felt like I had eaten an entire Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner!  I was stuffed!

Michael and anyone else who uses ground turkey as the new ground meat.......

Aldi's carries frozen "sausage" style packaging of ground turkey for $0.99 a package.  We keep at least 4-5 on hand at all times.  Thought I would pass along that along if you are trying to watch budgets.

I haven't even had the surgery yet, my mom has had it and we have adjusted to eating the new ground meat.  I bought some real beef ground meat several months ago and was cooking it up and it almost made me sick trying to cook it.

Also, would you share this recipe for me?

Thanks,
Tina

Wondered about the ground beef but since it was listed and I knew Michael had his surgery after me thought it must be okay.  I knew it was a gamble, but I hadn't kept down turkey or chicken so I figured what did I have to lose, since it would probably not stay down long enough to matter.  I'm still surprised it didn't make me sick.  But I will go back to the chicken, turkey and fish.

Thanks for the help.
