Hernias !!!!!!!
Please help!!!!!!! I had surgery for a series of hernias behind my open surgery for RNY last year. He did it lap but he had to make 13 openings to get to them and put the mesh in. My question is how long did you hurt? I have a pain in my left side that started 3 days ago and the pain meds do not give me any relief and now it hurts like h**l to bend over. I see the doc Wed the 8th. I know that hernias are common after surgery but why so many at one time? Also he is telling me I shouldn't lift weights any more or they will come back. This whole thing sucks. Birdy
OH Birdy, I am so sorry to hear you are hurting! I feel for you. I have not had surgery to repair any hernias, but they did my RNY by lap and the camera and junk went in on hte left, so that's why mine hurt so bad on the left. This may be true for you too. Al you can do is grin and bear it, sorry, no words of wisdom here, just sympathy. I know the pain you are feeling, and it is excruciating to say the least. Try to stay in one position and find something to bite down on when you move. Take care.
