Great doctor's appointment!

Today was my pre-op appointment with Dr. Ray.  I had been really nervous about this one.  He wanted me to lose around 50 pounds and get my BMI below 70 in order to have the surgery.  I had weighed weekly until 2 weeks ago and then weighed today.  At the last weigh in I had lost half of a pound in a week.  It was a loss, so that was good, but I was disappointed.  I have been working really hard to watch what I eat and exercising much more than I have in years.  I've cut out pop, sweet tea.  The only things I have been drinking have been water and crystal light.  I'm loving this change, but the scale wasn't changing much.  I had to lose around 11 more pounds before surgery for him to still do it.  Well, today was the big day.  I weighed in with a 7.5 pound loss and my BMI went down to 69.4.  So, he was happy with the results (as was I) and the surgery is still set for Oct. 21!  WHEW!!  I am going to keep up what I have been doing.  The more I can lose before the 21st the better.  It just feels good to see that the scales went down more than they had before!  I am excited.  I wish the 21st were this week!

Congratulations!  Sounds like you have worked very hard to accomplish these goals!  That is wonderful.  Losing weight prior to surgery is hardwork!  Don't be discouraged though.  Your surgery will help that weight melt off...  Keep up the great work and give us updates!  Take care.
