Update on Paula
Paula did have her surgery - complete hysterectomy, LBL & BL. Her dad insisted she go ahead with her plans. She was in quite a bit of pain last night and very sleepy but doing well. Dr. Wagstrom said there were no surprises with the hysto or plastics and she did very well during surgery.
I'm sure the stress of helping her dear friend bury her mom, traveling to & from Georgia, worrying about her mom and no sleep the night before surgery may have played a part in the sleepiness and lower pain tolerance. She has had an extremely stressful and tiring weekend. She was quite funny when she would rouse a bit though.
As for her mom's condition...they did find a tear in the intestine. The doctor said it appears to have stopped bleeding and is starting to heal so they are going to leave it alone. They gave her 3 units of whole blood and 3 units of plasma. They have also taken her off the blood thinners for now to help with the healing. They were planning on keeping her overnight and sending her home today if all continued to go well. Paula did relax some after getting this update from Bobby.
Paula is in room 3224 of Centennial Women's Hosp. Whether she goes home today or not will be made by her OB/GYN later today.

She did get your lovely flowers. I'm sure she will be in touch herself just as soon as she feels up to it.
That was so sweet!
