Has anybody used Access software?  If so could you help me out?  I'm trying to make some changes and I can't figure out how to get into the set up mode to change the way it sort is being made.

Thanks

As much as I want to help, Access is not my field of expertise!  I use it everyday, but know nothing when it comes to fields and sort functions!

I use it to enter the data, but now I need to make some changes and I'm really stumped.  The person that was suppose to know how to do this I find out doesn't know any more then I do!  Oh well I may just have to go to the meeting this weekend and say HELP and hope someone there can make the needed changes.

Thanks anyway.

What do you need to know?  I work in Access quite a bit.

I might be able to help with Access as well. Maybe you need to get into Design View?

You guys are lifesavers.  I have a report I need to sort, but since the report was set up (before I took it over) there has been a division added.  When I run the report the new division doesn't show up.

On another record I tried to enter it in the "Form Data Entry" screen but it  said "duplicate key" or something like that.  I went to the "Table Group Data" screen the number was there so I added all the information to that screen, but when I go back to the "Form Data Entry" screen and do a search it says no such records exist.

Any ideas?

Hey Sweet Pea!

Go to Tables...choose the data that you wish to update.  Go to the bottom of the screen and click on the little icon that shows an asterisk with the arrow.  This will allow you to add to the table contents.   This should correctly update your information.  It is possible that the person who worked with this before you attempted to add data in the form rather than the table?  Try adding to the appropriate table (using the little asterisk) and then go out of the table and into forms.

Good luck!

I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to help. My first thought is the "form" is referencing a different table than you updated??
