Jennifer Update
Just wanted to let you all know how things are going with Jennifer. She is doing radiation and chemo both now, she is doing chemo in pill form now and so far we have been blessed that the nausea medicine they gave her has kept her from being sick. She will take her last radiation and chemo pill on Sept 19th. Her hair started coming out bad about 2 weeks ago, so her grandmother cut her hair, what was left, off short and she got a wig from the American Cancer Society. she looks really cute in it and has decided she likes it which is good for me because at first the only way we could talk her into wearing it was if I wore one and we could go around "sportin" our new dos. The Make a Wish foundation is sending her and her family (grandma, grandpa, brother and sister...not her favorite "aunt" though) to Florida for a week at Disney World starting on Sept 20th. 6 weeks after she gets back she will start chemo in her port once every three weeks, which will require and overnight stay in the hospital. Jennifer is doing well now , she has the fight in her still, so she is still strong which is a blessing. The days that I have stayed, we have gone to Centennial Park to feed the ducks. pigeons and squirrels and I think we have named all animals there.....and yes she can tell them apart. Just continue to keep her in your prayers. Thank you for the wonderful support you have given us.

Darlene,
I am so glad that Jennifer is tolerating all this well. Post a pix of her sometime, I would love to see her. I adore the Make a Wish Foundation! When I was doing pediatric homecare and hospice in Memphis, we used them all the time! A LOT of kids went to Disney World, but some of the things that kids wish for are just so cute and so original! One little girl wished for a flower garden so her mommy would have something pretty to look at. One little boy wished for his sister to be adopted! (By someone else) That one didn't happen! I know I am a long way away but if there is ever anything I can do, please let me know. And know Jennifer is on my prayer list!
