And so my journey starts...
I met my Dr today, Dr Hodge, and he was SO wonderful! Very funny and personable, I really like him.... and his staff is just terrific!I felt so comfortable there, and felt like I mattered, not like I was "just another patient" KWIM? I have my egd scheduled for oct 3rd and an ultrasound for my galls stones too. I have to be on the 6 mo diet for my ins and attend at least 2 support group meetings and get all sorts of past information for the last 5 yrs which MAY be a bit trying since I used to live in another part of the state and I dont even remember my dr's then. Im on a 1500 calorie a day diet and it actualy doesnt look too bad. Im so excited about this! Come march I should be able to schedule my surgery! It actualy doesnt seem that far away either.
Tina,
Thats great. I'm glad to hear he is a nice guy. I got good news today too and am waiting for my psychiatrist to call so I can get my letter going. The egd wasn't bad. The people there were very nice. I know I saw Dr. Hodge during the procedure but I don't remember it at all. There is some nasty stuff you have to swallow but overall it wasn't bad really. I met others there who are trying for surgery too. Very nice people. Mine turned out good and Dr. Hodge told my husband my stomach looked good and I am a good candidate for surgery. I'm doing 1400 calories but I set that myself before I even saw anyone at Dr. Hodge's office. I was required to attend a preop support group meeting and then 3 postop support group meeting. I have the preop and 1 postop under my belt. I will be attending my second postop support group meeting on Friday evening. It would be great to see you there if you plan on attending. I hope everything else goes smoothly for you.
Blessings,
Karen
