I am sick and tired of...

...of being told I look sick!

When I was morbidly obese, no one ever told me to my face that I looked bad! (At least to mu face!) Now I know I did, because I felt bad.  I know I smelled, no matter how much I scrubbed.  I know my clothes did not fit correctly, because I had no one in my life to tell me how to shop.  You know, I was not in the best of health.  But I was not sickly looking!

Now that I have lost weight, all I hear is, "WOW, you don't need to lose anymore, you look like you're sick!"  I have been told that my bones are protruding and it looks disgusting.  I have been told I must have cancer because I am gaunt and my face look this and frail.  I have been asked if the surgery was sucessful, because you look like death!  Now that I have lost eight and started to finally feel better, people feel it's OK to talk about me to my face.  What gives?

You know what?  I feel better than I ever have!  I feel like I am at the best physical shape I have been in my life.  I started to say years, but I have never felt as good as I do now!

So, for all the haters out there, this is for you...

I FEEL GOOD AND I'M NOT SICK!

Sorry, that was my Sunday Soap Box I was on!  I hope each and every one of you have a blessed day!

Scott,
I've only seen photos but I think you look great. Besides appearing fit, you look happy and that says a lot.  Shrug those busybodies off and remember that it is your opinion that counts.
Blessings,

That's OK, to be on the Soap Box.   I know you feel great.  Those who say things like this don't understand how bad you "Felt" before surgery.  Just that you didn't look thin and that goes with the old thought  processes that full figures are healthly.
I had the same conversation with a lady at work on Friday.  She is in the beginning stages to loosing weight to get insurance approval.   She has mentioned her intent to several of the co-workers who say "lose it on your own" "surgery is dangerous" etc. etc. etc.   She had tears in her eyes when she told me that she feels bad and is tired of feeling this way.  It hurt her to have a friend put her down.   I am just glad I can be her support at work.
Thin Chin's UP!!  You look as wonderful as you feel-----I am sure you feel great, because I do!!

As someone who didn't know you "before"  you look perfectly fine to me. One thing I noticed in the past when I had lost some weight (only about 30lbs, mind you!), my overweight friends thought I looked like I had lost too much weight.  I guess we all have perception problems...

Well Brother I feel your pain. I too with others have gotten the comments. I understand that it is hard for people to adjust to the new physical us. There is times I catch myself in the mirror and go dang you are small, so knowing I have not gotten use to who I've become its understandable for others. But and its a Big BUTT! Some are family members who knew all the health issues I over came because of WLS, yes presently I'm down to 158lbs and 27" waist. I have a good appetite and get in over 100g of protein most days mainly from food and eat right. The body will level off when it levels off, it is what it is. Be glad I'm healthy, healthier then I probably ever have been, exercising more then ever. So I agree keep the negative comments to your self....... So Scott vent away because your preaching to the choir! C'ya Bob

Thanks guys!  I knew the choir would know what I was talking about.  I must be doing something right, cause I feel good!

I usually just smile at these remarks and say, "I'm OK, you're just remembering the FAT Scott".

If I ever forget to smile and punch one of them instead......

Can I count on you guys to help with the bail money?

Have a good day, I'm gonna try!

 Scott,

I think you look fabulous! You have come along way. I really wish people would remember what mothers always used to say "if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all"  I get the your too skinny bit all the darn time. My biggest supporter of all tells me I need to put the brakes on the loosing weight. How the HECK do I do that???? I can't do it. My body and yours will tell you when its done.
