What Am I Doing Wrong
Okay I've sat on this for several days thinking about posting but then not. Since a lot of you are coming to the get together tomorrow I thought now would be a good time.
When I went for my 2 week post op visit I had gone from 250 to 227. On Wednesday I went to see my PCP at 6 weeks post op and I now weigh 224
I have only lost 3 lbs in a month!! How can this be?
I have been keeping a record of what I have been eating and drinkiing for the last 2 weeks and am going to bring it tomorrow, hoping you guys can help me figure out what I'm doing wrong.
I know I'm not excerising, but after doing just every day things I'm so exhausted I take a nap. My energy level is at zero!
When I look in the mirror I can tell I've lost weight and like Dianne I'm now in a 24 from my high of 28 in January. I was wearing a 26 before surgery.
I'm not posting to whine, I'm asking for help. I MUST succeed at this weight loss attempt. I will not put myself and my family through all this and not come out a LOSER!!!
On the plus side, my PCP took me off my BP medicine Wednesday and said when I go back in 5 weeks she will probably take me off my Cholesterol meds. So that's a positive.
Thanks for letting me vent. I trust you guys and know someone will set me straight on what I'm doing wrong and help me get back on the right track. I'm hoping that tomorrow is the day that will get be back going in the right direction.
So you will know me tomorrow, I'll be the proud Nana with the precious 9 yr. old red headed granddaughter in tow!!!
See I haven't lost my sense of humor

Things you may try
1. Go back to a liquid diet for a week
2. Cut back on your carbs....they burn you out
3. Increase your protein your body may be ready for more
4.make sure your taking your vitamins
5. stop compairing yourself to others you are you and nobody else knows what yoru body needs but you.
6. Your body will lose it in its own time but even if you do not work out walk and walk your body is changing at a rapid pace keep it running fuel and energy is what it needs.
Good Luck to you
Hot Momma is right on clue, but we all will be glad to look at it for you!!! I did something yesterday that was not good for me and I am actually very swolen today too, so even as far out as I am we can all do something that does not seem right and have stalls. I am not really wanting to loose anymore weight at this point, just contain my weight and get by with minimmal swelling. I will share tomorrow and will be so excited to miss you for the first time!!

You are 6 weeks out. Your weight loss in fine for that time. You have lost 26 pounds! Have you ever done that in 6 weeks before surgery?
I agree with HotMama for changes if you want to-increase that protein and make sure you are getting in the water and vitamins. Also, I really recommend some sort of exercise. I remember how exhausted I felt at first, so I started really small. I rode my exercise bike starting at 5 minutes a day and increased it by 5 minutes every wee****il I got to 45 minutes a day. Right now while I am recovering from the spinal neck surgery I can't do it and I really miss it and my slowed down weight loss shows it. It doesn't matter what the exercise is, just get moving-you will be surprised that after a few days of forcing yourself to do it, that you actually have MORE energy. I'm sorry I can't be there tomorrow. Have a great time!

Thanks so much for your help. I will bring my information to the Party and look forward to learning! Of course I plan to have fun at the same time!
I will try to start small with my exercise and build up. I was trying to walk a mile in 25 mins. every day and that was weariing me out, so dumb me just stopped doing anything.
See ya later today.

Morning B!
Everyone has given great advice, be sure to stick to it. Now comes the reality. Your body has been changing at a rapid rate. One of the things that really stuck in my mind at 6 weeks was...It happens. Your body has been losing all the time, now it is saying, "Whoa, wait a minute, I need to hold on to everything I've got". This is normal at this time.
In all that I've read, probably 99% of WLS patients experience their first stall at this time. Like you have said, you are wearing smaller clothes, everyday feels better, and the weight will start falling off again!
I can remember being at my first stall for about 2 weeks (at 5-6 weeks out). I was furious, this surgery as a fraud, it is not going to work, I'm the only one that will not lose! These are all statements that went through my mind! Guess what? The very next week, I lost 10 pounds! WOW!
So, here is the advice I always give...breath! You are doing nothing wrong from what you've said. so...BREATH!!!!!!!
