I can't speak to the plastics because I am not there yet.  As to the Motrin- it is a NSAID, a non steroidal anti-infalmmatory drug.  They are known to cause severe ulcers &/or eroding of the suture line in patients who have had gastric bypass.  This includes Advil as well.  Please be very careful about taking any of those drugs.  As far as the stall, I unfortunately seem to get them all the time.  One of the things that helped me the last time was to do a liquid protein diet for 3 days.  I drank a protein shake every 2 hours all day, and then only ate a light supper at night.  I also got in all my 64 ounces of water.  Believe it or not, I was not hungry and it really helped my stall- I think I lost 5 pounds.  Hope this helps.

Plastics is a very expensive portion of the WLS Journey, however if you can manage it, I would do it!!!!   I had all mine done at the same time, very hard recovery, long time under the knife, however I would do it exactly the way I did it one surgery and one long hard recovery not two or three. Plus if you add all the time I was under it is actally less anistesia than if I had the procedures sepratley, so in this case less is truly more.  Yes lot of pain, but it was all at one time now it is over with as well.  Back to financing, some doctors will work with your insurance and also offer some sort of progrm like Capitol One medical financing.  I know Dr. Tireny works well to provide you with all your options.

Good Luck,
Shelia

Hi Salena,

Where did you have your WLS?  Was it at Vanderbilt?  I know generaly they like to see their patients at about 18 months out...  I don't know who your surgeon is but have you spoken with their office about not losing any weight in the last 6 months?  How much weight have you lost?  What did you weigh when you had your surgery?

Marilyn is absolutely right about the motrin....  Why are you in pain?  Did you have an accident or are you hurting somewhere?

Just some questions thay may help discuss your questions....Good to see you posting.  I am glad that you are here...........  Trina

Hiya, thanks for responding,
I had it done with DR. Willie Melvin  @ Vanderbilt  on 03/12/07  and then I got dropped under the bus because i was calling his Office due to extreme pain  which after suffering 9mo  was told to go pcp   because  his job was done  and then i ended up finding another  bariactric surgon who was willing to see me because  my DR.s  job was done and he was on vacation.
Who found i had gall stones and had emergency sugery 2 days later . So he sent me  to a plastic surgeon  afterward  (DR. Melvin) per my request  after i seen him (6 mo later ) because i had to pay for so much to other drs due to his office  dropping the ball  ,only to have a follow up exactly the same.
The surgon was great said ya you need a body lift but your ins will only cover the panny  but when i talk to them ( THE INS) they say they will as long as the DR. deems it MED nessesary  (which  he did) so anyway the woman in billing @ the plastic surgons office @ Vandy   was a nightmare  10 min in front of her  not once did she look up at me or my husband  or even spoke ....... after 10 min  turned around  handed  me a paper said sign this is copy that i gave it to you to take home  we need 8,600. up front and thats just a est it may varrie  and only good for 30 days have a nice day .
Wow!!!!  so not real confident that my paper work will be put thru and thats how i found the plastc's i listed above  who are willing to finance will cost me about 2000 more but i can make pmts to them  so i guess its a wash i was sure treated better  by the other guys willing to finance about the wl well i'm going back to  all protiens to see if i can get a move on scale  i ride a bike and walk alot  but can see a change  i started out @ 293 and i'm down to 186  .... 18 mos out .
