Prescriptions

It seems that ALOT of Doctors that work where I receive my regular care DO NOT know what is safe for gastric bypass patients. Does anyone have a list of safe prescriptions?

Gidget, I have noticed the same thing. I wonder if Dr Steely/Bolar's office has one? I have never thought to ask. All I really knew was no NSAIDS and I found our by trial and error that oral hormones don't absorb. If you see them before I do (and you will, I can't travel for another 4 weeks) ask them for a list.

I go back to see him on 11 Sept. When I do I will ask about a list of safe meds. if I am able to get one I will scan it and email it to you if you want.

If you go to the hospital at FT Campbell and go to the Bariatric Center in there ask for Sandra she has a list of safe meds you can take Dr Sanborn gives it to all his patients along with other litature.

Hi Gidget,,,,

I would only ever take any medication that is approved by the staff of my surgeon. My surgeons office will even scrutinize the Med. from my PCP and my MHP... They know what is being absorbed and what isn't being absorb. Your WLS center should also be able to to tell you how to break down the dosages for maximum absorbstion. We do have an absorsbitoion issue now sweetie
