Need an unemployed RN?

Well, I got a letter in the mail today from the main office of Adventa Hospice who I work(ed) for.  They have apparently terminated my employment since I couldn't return to work when the FMLA was over.  No one at my local office even called to warn me.  In fact, I talked to my supervisor on Thursday who asked when I could come back and that of course they wanted me back.  The letter was dated on Wednesday.  It didn't say I was terminated, it just said that since I no longer worked for Amedisys (they own Adventa) they would be sending me info on how to get my money out of my 401k and about Cobra.  I know they had every right to do it, I had only been employed with them for 3 months before I had to go on leave.  It just would have been nice to have been warned!  Now, on top of everything else, I have to start looking for a job.  This is not a good day.

I'm sorry this happened Marilyn. You are in our thoughts and prayers.  Tomorrow is a new day.

Look at it like this though...You were able to get out of bed this morning, walk you skinny little self down to the mailbox, while admiring you nicely pedicured toes!  Sorry, just a little humor to help you make it through the day!

Hang in there hun, there's never enough GOOD Nurses, and you are one of the best!

I will keep you in my prayers. I'm sorry this happened and I'm sure you'll find something as soon as you're able to work. There are not enough nurses these days and I certainly appreciate them.

Marilyn, I am so sorry to hear about this, that sucks for sure. I'm sure that when you are ready to go back to work you will find something real soon. Like everyone said, there are never enough of nurses in the world. I was kinda in the same boat back in May. I got letters stating that my services were no longer needed and to me looking for the Cobra information. I too had talked to people at my work and according to them they had no clue. I find that a little hard to believe. I had given SunTrust 31 years and this is the thanks that I get. Sorry didn't mean to jump on your band wagon. You hang in there and you will find something real soon.

Cheryl

Thanx everyone.  I am trying real hard to look at this as a blessing in disguise.  I know I am not ready to work yet, so maybe I just need to chill for a couple of weeks and then start looking.  I know God has a plan, and it is a good one, I just wish I knew more about it!

Hey Girlfriend!

So sorry to hear about the loss of your job.  I know for sure that there is something out there that is even better for you!  You had no choice about the neck thing, it had to be dealt with, so it's their loss.

I did get the awesome photo keychain!  Thanks so much, how sweet!  I can't wait to get it up and running with cute pics of baby Jack and baby T to come!

Love you!
