Asking for an antidepressant
I am going to see my PCP today. I am going to ask for an antidepressant and for a referral for therapy. I want to get my eating demons under control before I start to gain weight again. I see a lot of old behaviors coming back since I have been home alone a lot and they have GOT TO STOP! This will also be my first attempt at driving since neck surgery. I haven't taken the muscle relaxers today so that I would not be impaired and Ron turned the car around in the driveway for me. I only have to drive 5 miles, so pray everything will be ok. I think it would help me SO much to be able to get out a little bit each day. Anyway, back to old behaviors, what do ya'll see haunting you?

Oh I remember that feeling and it beens about 7 years since my neck surgery. The first time I drove on only went to the store at the end of the road. When I got there I couldn't turn my head enough to see if traffic was coming! Had to turn my whole body. Be careful out there. Being out of the house will help your feeling. The next week my daughter who was about 8 weeks pregnant called and told me she could not find maternity clothes in Lexington or Jackson that would fit her. I drove to the mall here then went by my husbands work and told him I was on my way to TN/. My daughter needed maternity clothes, he just about had a heart attack but I did fine. It was 125 miles to my daughters house but the chiropractor she works for gave me a message when I got there. It was well worth it.

Please be very careful. We don't want you to be in an accident! I hope and pray that you will arrive safely to and from your appointment.
I too have recently gotten on an antidepressant/anxiety medication. It has helped me so far, and I feel much more calm. Whereas before, every small thing really got me riled up and upset, but now I pretty much just say "crap" and its over, LOL. I was very upset easily and had some outburst/temper problems, cussing and ranting but that has passed. I hated it, it sure was not the Melinda I know and loved. Now I'm more like the person I want to be. Keep us informed.
Made it to the doctor and back without incident! Although I don't think I will be doing too much driving for another week or so. I couldn't turn my head to see if traffic was coming or not! The PCP put me on Celexa. He said that I had more of a stress/fear thing going on rather than depression. He also gave me some other ideas of things to do. I love my PCP, he is just a great guy (and I had to work with him as a RN in the hospital). Anyway, he says all this is temporary and once I get back on my feet, he thinks I will be fine. So, now I am back home, so time to get back on the muscle relaxers!
