Protein Questions!!
Hey B! I remember Paula talking at support group that there is no real evidence as to how much protein the body will take in or use (poor choice of words) at one time. I would probably need more than you do. I'm sure the 4 oz of tuna / 35 grams of protein did not harm you, unless you ate to much! LOL! So I think you are OK.
As far as Protein Pudding, this is the recipe I have used. I did use the small package of pudding.
PROTEIN PUDDING
1 pkg SF pudding, any flavor
8 oz protein drink (preferably vanilla)*You can mix protein powder with liquid or use RTD. Just use 8 oz of a protein product.
Hope this helps!

Here are my 2 protein questions:
1. On page 26 of the Gastric Bypass Owner's Manual that I was given before my surgery there is a Protein Pudding recipe. When I made it the first time I used a large box of Jello pudding. The recipe doesn't give a size. I'm thinking I should have used the regular size in order to get the 20 grams of protein in each half cup. I want to make some more today but want to use the right size box.
2. Last night I ate a package of Bumble Bee Albacore Fillet Grilled steak. It was 4 oz and contained 35 grams of protein. My questions are:
a. Is that too much to have eaten at one time
b. Can my body absorb 35 grams of protein at one time? I remember hearing someone say that your body could only absorb ??? grams of protein at a time and any more would be wasted.
Thanks for the info

Hi ,
I knew I couldnt remember all that info that my NUT gave me so I wrote it in my journal. There are notes and that sort of thing on the second page , you are welcome to take a look at it.
Here is the info on protien that my NUT gave us:
PROTIEN:
--- 1oz of meat = to 8 grams protien
-- the most lean and best ground meat is ground sirloin
--- second best is the 97/3 ground round
---Your body cannot absorb more than 30 grams of protien within two hours
-- Your Minimum/ MAX protien intake for the day should be 70 grams
* untill your first nut blood tests after surgery
-- Too much protien intake extracts calcium
--- Extra protien shows up in blood test at the pre-albuim result levels
Hope this helps![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/smile.gif)
