Scar Cream recipe???
Marilyn
Yes Mariliyn it was me. I was given this by an acquaintance from work after she had a breast reduction. Many say it has helped their scars as well.
Use equal parts of:
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Ponds Cold Cream (dont' use a generic)
Lanolin
I bought the Lanolin from IHerb.com for 4.99. It is not the oil, but its a jar of cream. Its very thick, but it makes your skin very hydrated and the lotion is thick and kinda hard to stir up but well worth it. Enjoy!
Yep, this is great stuff!
The lanolin is really thick and sticky, like petroleum jelly mixed with honeycomb. The cream works like a charm though.

Anyway, here is the recipe for the Scar Cream. Melinda put together a packet of information a while back (before she had her blog...RecoveringFatty.com), and we collobarated on getting it on the web. So, I have it on my blog (Bald Is Beuatiful). But here it is in all it's glory.
Scar Cream Recipe (Melinda R.)
This recipe was given to me by a business contact. Her mother-in-law works at Vanderbilt and a plastic surgeon there recommends this to his patients. It’s a very simple recipe. However, the Pure Lanolin is difficult to find.
Use equal parts of:
****xtra virgin olive oil
(2) Ponds Cold Cream (I would use Ponds, not a cheaper version)
(3) Pure Lanolin (it’s sold on Iherb.com for less than $5 for a 7 oz jar. The jar is better and makes it easier to apply. The oil makes it messy and runny.
Mix all ingredients together in a plastic container. It’s very hard to stir as the Lanolin is almost like wax. I just filled up the jar which the Lanolin came in and use that to dip my cream from each application. The rest can remain in the plastic container until you are ready for a refill.
Everything is going GREAT!!! I haven't had a chance to get on the site because I pulled a muscle in by back and work has begun. I really enjoy chatting with everyone but I have had to utilize my free time preparing for school.
Thanks for the recipe....I think I might just try it!
I didn't attend the support group meeting in August because it was the day before school started. Hopefully, I can attend another one very soon. I really miss not getting to talk with everyone. The 2 hour drive on a school night is hard because getting up the next morning is not as easy task for me!
I am not down to 223....started at 288. Not bad, in a bit over two months. I am beginning an exercise class at school two days a week. Everyone...including myself is very excited about that!!
Dr,Lynch said that I was doing awesome! He dismissed me until January. That was a wondeful thing to hear! That is a praise from God. I didn't think I was ever going to get over the SICKNESS! He told me that only happens to 1 out of 4. I guess I was the lucky ONE! Ha Ha
Tell everyone that I said hello and maybe I can begin posting soon!!
I use my Kitchenaid but a regular hand mixer would work too. I cream the lanolin and Ponds together and then drizzle in the olive oil with the mixer running.
I bought a pretty jar with a screw on lid that is big enough to hold one whole batch. It is also big enough to get my hand inside of so I have no trouble reaching the cream.

Because of the thickness of the cream, it is very controllable in its application. You may not like it at first because it is so thick... but let me tell you, it does wonders to your skin. I use it on my neck and throat area and it gives your skin a sheen (not oily) and radiance. It is great for dry skin. My mother has suffered with very dry skin all her life, esp on her legs and she begs me to bring her cream back! I ran out and had borrowed hers! LOL
There are also people in the medical field who suggest that any cream would/can work IF you massage your scars. I never massaged mine but the scars still disappeared or faded. I now have started massaging the cream into my scars and it seems to work nicely.
As for the magic bullet, I suppose it could work but very messy to clean up!
