Question about Slim Fast VS Protien drink.
I picked up the MAX Protien powder in the large blue canister. Its low calorie and low card. It says that one scoop 118 calories, 3g cards, and 22g proties along with a ton of nutrients that would take me forever to list here. you mix one scoop with 8-10 ounces of cold water. I had a sample of this at GNC and it tastes great. Much better than SlimFast. Do you think we can use this instead. Its alot easier to keep as well. It mixes with cold water or skim milk if you want.
It sounds like an acceptable alternative to me. Just be aware that he may not like the taste of it after surgery.
Mix it with water as opposed to milk. Using milk is really going to increase the calories as well as the carbs.
The reason they give pre-op instructions of premade supplements is because they don't want you buying a big jug of a protein powder just to find that you can't stand it after surgery. Also, the premade or RTD (ready to drink) shakes are more convenient. I still keep my favorite RTD on hand for when I need a meal replacement I can grab & go.
