Looking for a plastic surgeon

Can anyone recommend a good plastic surgeon in Tn. to perform a tummy tuck with muscle repair or a lower body lift? I live about 90 minutes from Nashville, Tn., so somewhere in the area of Murfreesboro or Nashville would be great! Thanks...

Several ps patients represent:

Dr. Lois Wagstrom (Susan J - hernia repair, belt lipectomy? Susan help me here!)

Dr. Michael Hueneke (melsreturn - tt with mr)

Dr. Donald Griffin (michael sircy - face/chin lift, total belt lipectomy)

Mike also consulted with Dr Fleming who is very expensive and good. I have heard wonderful things about him as well.  My doc's office gives his name out with Dr. Griffins for referrals.

All come highly recommended.

I love Dr. Wagstrom. She is extremely experienced in working with post WLS patients. She and her entire staff are wonderful. Also, her entire staff is female.

I am 6 months post op from a lower body lift with anchor cut and hernia repair. Dr. Wagstrom includes muscle repair with all of her lower body lifts.

The anchor cut is the incision that runs from between my breasts all the way down, ending with the mons reduction. The mons reduction is also different than a mons lift. With the reduction, a "v" is cut out and the sides are brought together thus reducing the size from side to side and then the mons is also lifted as part of the TT or LBL.

Whoever you choose to go to, make sure they are experienced with post WLS patients. Not all board certified plastic surgeons are qualified to deal with our specific issues. Ask to see pictures of patients who had the same procedures you are considering and who had lost about the same, or more, weight than you. It really does not give a true comparison if the example of a tummy tuck just had the loose skin due to pregnancy removed or if the breast surgery patient was having reconstruction after a mastectomy or a breast reduction without weight loss.

Dr. Wagstrom sounds perfect. I would feel much more comfortable with an all female staff for these types of procedures. And the fact that she is experienced with WLS patients is wonderful. Do you have her number? Where is she located? What is her first name?

Lois Wagstrom, phone 329-1822

She is located in the Atrium of Centennial Hospital. This building is also known as The Sarah Cannon Cancer Center. Address: 250 25th Avenue N, Suite 301, Nashville, 37203 - just in case you want to mapquest directions.

When I made my appointment, they sent me paperwork that included a map with directions to the office and parking.

Good luck!

Thank you very much Susan. I will be sure to tell Dr. Wagstrom that I was referred by Susan J.
One more question...does it take a long time to get an appt. with her? I know some surgeons who are booked up for 6 months already.

I got an appointment for consult less than a week after I called and scheduled my surgery for 3 weeks after consult. I had to wait for Dr. Wagstrom to get back from vacation or I could have had it a week earlier.

I was completely self-pay and needed a couple of weeks to get my finances settled and get my payments in. You do have to pay your part of all fees at least one week prior to surgery.

Dr. Gingrass did my breast reduction several years ago - she is great! She is in Nashville. She used to be with Baptist but I think she may have opened her own office.

Susan J, WOW that's really fast!
I will also be self-pay. Can you give me an idea of how much the LBL cost? I'm not sure if I will need a LBL or a TT/MR. I'm sure her prices may have changed since you had your surgery but a ball park figure will be helpful. As of now...I have no clue of what price to expect for everything. Thanks so much for all your help!
