My pouch really does NOT like.......
Banana Peppers... Ohhhhh somebody please pray to the pouch Gods and make this nasuea go away. I am 2 years post op and yesterday I got a salad for lunch from Subway. I had not had banana peppers since before surgery so.... they were so GOOD while eating but Ohhhh am I ever paying for it now. How about you all?? What are some things your pouch does not tolerate well?
When I was newly post op I could not tolerate eggs and little by little I tried them again and after a while they are ok. There are some things in the begining that I could not tolerate well but I can tolerate them now. Hope you all had a wonderful TAX FREE weekend... : )

One thing that my pouch HATES is Breyer's Carb Smart Chocolate Ice Cream. It makes my stomach cramp so bad! Even if I ate two small bites, it just hates it! I don't have the vanilla very often (even though we buy a lot of it cause Tim loves milk shakes) but a few weeks ago I had about 1/8 cup of vanilla. It had not hurt me before... WELL guess again!
I had the same problem with eggs early out. I could not tolerate a scrambled egg. I finally tried a soft boiled egg at about 3 months and did okay with it. Then I added poached eggs. It was about a year before I could tolerate scrambled eggs.
The thing(s) I still cannot tolerate at 2 1/2 years post-op are canned tuna and canned chicken. I can make chicken salad using rotisserie chicken or chicken I have poached, roasted or baked myself and I can eat fresh, grilled or seared tuna with no problem. But just one bite of canned tuna or chicken and I am praying to the porcelain god.
Speaking of dumping...Bill witnessed a dumping episode for the first time the other day - we won't even go into what I had eaten, dumb, dumb, dumb of me - it scared the bejeebers out of him. He kept asking what he could do to help. Bless his heart, he was so worried. All I could do was moan and tell him he couldn't do anything but slap me if I ever looked like I was going to put another jelly bean in my mouth.
Oops, I guess I spilled the beans as to what brought on the visit from the dump fairy. Like I said, dumb of me!

Hi Miss Juanita...
I am sorry to hear that you had a stomach ache.... I feel for you hun... Been there and done that... Did you feel like you had a dumping episode??
Were the peppers fresh or were they pickled or marinated?
We have been hearing lots in the news recently about tomatoes and peppers being associated with outbreaks of simeneloa (SP?)....
Fresh foods are my food of choice and the recent headlines sadden me greatly.. If the peppers were pickled or marinated, then do you think it is possible that there were some hidden sugars or preservatives in them?
I hope you are feeling better.....
