i can't believe after all this time on OH i haven't been posting on the tennessee board. I've been on the DS board this whole time.
so I just wanted to say hey and I'm having my DS surgery on August 18th at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. Has anyone else had their surgery at baptist? what was your experience like?
now that i know about the TN board, i'll be posting here more.

I had Dr. Spaw and I just love him to pieces! The entire staff at Baptist is wonderful. There are quite a few Baptist patients here. The board tends to be rather quiet on the weekends.
While it's been 2 1/2 years since my surgery, I have visited several patients recently. The operating room staff and the floor nurses and techs take excellent care of you. You have nothing to fear.
Have you attended any of the support group meetings at Baptist? The next one for RNY and DS patients is this Tuesday at 5:30. We meet the first Tuesday of each month. The meetings are held in the Guy Bates Center near the center. If you park and go in like you are going to the surgery center, you will see signs for the support group meeting location. Hope to see you there Tuesday night.

Welcome to the TN Board. I had my surgery at Baptist July 15th and it was a great experience. Dr. McDowell was my surgeon. If you are lucky enough to have Amber as your day nurse and Mark as your day tech tell them Barbara said "Hi". They were the best.
Hope you come to the meeting Tuesday night. Look me up if you go, since you don't have a picture posted a won't be able to find you!

Welcome to the Tennessee forum! We are glad that you are here. Dr. Spaw is my surgeon. He is fabulous and as Susan said...you have nothing to fear. He is a gifted surgeon and you just don't get any better than the staff in his office and at the hospital.
