Update!

I just learned that in the state of Calif. even if an insurance excludes WLS if you are medically neccessary then you can request a review and it will be approved! Isn't that amazing. So here is the deal. I have to be in Cali for 15 days to apply for assistance. Since my gramma is letting me stay with her, I am going to apply for General Assistance and that will give me Medi Cal as well. Medi Cal covers weight loss surgery. GA will also allow me to use their SSI Advocate so that I can apply for SSI. All this will help me to get Medi Cal so I can have the surgery. Even if they turned me down and say it isn't covered, which I know it is... I can claim medical neccesity! Isn't that amazing! Please pray that the next few months will bring change for me. That I will have patience. I know it will not happen this easy but I know it will happen. Also, my sister and I will be looking to start a non-profit in the next couple years in order to offer assistance with WLS. If you are interested in seeing something like this we will be looking for others to help and ideas. Maybe we can do surgery scholarships or grants.... Not sure. Just wanted you to know that there is a light at the end of this tunnel now... Hugs!
