Plastic Surgery

I am at a point where I want to DESPERATELY get rid of my waddle at my chin/neck!!! I can deal with the "Girls" Issues with my "Sweet Nothings" Bras & my sagging stomach with "Spanx" but there is NO hiding your face. I am obsessing over it. Others tell me it is not noticable but I know they are being nice. I finally went to my mother & asked her to be honest with me.. and she said yes it does make look older. In fact she is offering to help me pay for the surgery.
I have gotten off track as to what I needed..LOL.. I wanting someone to tell me who THEY have used or if they can recommend anyone.
Thank You for letting me rant!!

Great question, I want to consult with as many as possible before I do anything.

I did go to a plastic surgeon for a consultation before I looked into the Gastric bypass.
I havnt had the bypass yet but,
A lady I know lost over 100 lbs of weight from the Phentermine diet.
She had everything done and looked great. Nothing with the face though.

I went to her surgeon Melinda Haws...in Nashville.

The practice is that of two very nice lady surgeons. (Im not sure but I think they are the only lady surgeons in Nashville). Melinda, the one I met, was super nice and personable. She was very honest about what she could do with what I had at the time.

She gave a picture book of what operations they had preformed.
The pictures looked great ,but I also kept in mind that me being new to it allI didnt have anything to compare it to .

Au contrare. Lois Wagstrom is a female plastic surgeon practicing in Nashville. She also has an all female staff of nurses, nurse practitioner and support staff.

Something to consider when choosing a plastic surgeon is picking one that is experienced with post WLS patients. We have issues with blood vessels that other folks don't have. If the surgeon is not experienced in dealing with these issues, we can lose too much blood during surgery leading to complications, tissue death due to compromised blood supply, and even patient death due to blood loss.

You also want a surgeon who is going to be familiar with our post-op nutritional and oral medication needs. Dr. Wagstrom knew to order a sugar free, high protein diet for me while in the hospital as well as making sure my post-op pain meds would work well with my altered innards.

Hey Tonya. Long time, no see. I think the last time I actually "saw" you was last year's Walk From Obesity. I'm sure you have changed a lot since then.

I have not had anything done to my face but I know Melinda's friend Mike had his lower face/neck done. It looks fabulous! I can't remember the name of his surgeon right off the top of my head. Perhaps if you PM Melinda she can tell you.

I have had the LBL with anchor cut and a hernia repair with Lois Wagstrom. She is very experienced with WLS patients and she, and her staff, is wonderful! I have had no problems with my surgery and am very pleased with my results. When (if) I am able to have my thighs and breasts done I will definitely go back to her. She located in the Atrium Bldg of Centennial, aka Sarah Cannon Cancer Center.

Hey Tonya,
I did have a face lift and a neck lift.  It was the best thing I could have done for me.  I used Dr. Donald Griffin in Nashville 615-321-1003.   He is great.  He will not over do it or do something that you really don't need.  His office staff is great too.  He took off 2.5 to 3 inches on each side and neck.  I was really overweight for a long time and had gained alot in my face. I think I have pictures on here of before and after, if not email me and I will send them to you.  I had people to tell me they did not notice either, but I SURE DID!!  It was the right thing for me to do, just make sure you check whoever you choose out and you are comfortable with what you are doing.
