pre op
Hi anyone here pre op still going through the hoops to get clearance . I'm in my fifth month of medical supervised weightloss and i've lost 25 pounds of the required 40 my surgeon wants. Ilive in southern illinois but will be having my surgery at vanderbuilt . I have found everyone there to be so nice and helpful. I can't wait to get a surgery date.

Well you have picked a great place to have the surgery. Dr. Richard and everyone of his staff is very helpful and friendly and have a great program.
I have just gotten the go ahead from my insurance.
I met my insurance qualifications before I met the qualifications for Vanderbilt Program.
It took about 3months to go through everything that Vanderbilt needed me to do for their program before they would submit me to the insurance company.
Im in the process of waiting for my insurance letter to get here so I can fax it to Vanderbilt and get a surgery date. I cant wait either!!

I am also in the process of losing a recomended 20 lbs before that date (what ever it is).

I must tell you that this forum is filled with many that will encourage and inspire you and I must also say that Dr. Richards is my doctor and he is awesome. I actually feel like giving him a great big hug when I see him again or crying on his shoulder, because I'm so happy with my results. The Surgical weight loss team and office staff at Vandy are spectacular. You are in a very good place.

Hello Diane and thankyou. I feel blessed to have found Vanderbuilt they are all so nice and have all been extremely helpful over there. I've met with him only once he seemed nice and concerned. I have read a lot of post on here and have gotten a lot of great advice for after surgery. I can hardly wait for surgery so i can start living again. GOOD LUCK to you.
