Newbie into and questions

Hello Tennesseans!

I am investigating having the VSG. For me I feel this WLS is the best fit.

I went to seminar at Centennial with Dr. Olsen - he was wonderful and the doc I want to have. Unfortunately he does not accept Medicare. I am looking at other physician options because frankly I do not have the thousands I would have to pay for the physician's fee unless I put it on plastic.

I use a wheelchair and do not walk at all - it is unrelated to obesity. WLS will not improve my disability but will improve my quality of life and possibly eliminate some of the co-morbidities I have acquired over the past few years.

Has any one here had the the sleeve? If so, who was your surgeon.

Merry wanted to say . Call and check at Vanderbilt, I think that they may take medicare for the surgery. When I was in my seminar there was others in there that had medicare for their too. Good luck and Barb

Dr Dyer at centennial does take medicare.  He is an awesome doctor and an awesome human being.  No he is not my surgeon but I still think he is great.

Unfortunately Dr. Dyer is not accepting new patients at this time. I will check out Vandy tomorrow.

The center for surgical weight loss at vandy does take medicare patients, and they have been  so wonderful. They can be reached @ 615-343-8988.
