I'm new here and wanted to say hello!

Just wanted to see if anyone is from Morristown or any where around here. I'm really haveing a hard time deciding which surgery to have and was wanting to talk to local people who have had either one of them done.

Sorry, not from Morristown, just wanted to say Hi and welcome you to the boards!  Feel free to jump right in and ask any question and even answer the ones you know!  We are a pretty good group of people who don't bite much!  OK some do, but I won't tell you who they are!  Once again...Welcome!

Hello and Welcome to the TN board! I am not from morristown but maybe you could look into attending a WLS seminar. They will tell you about both surgeries and you can also find info on the internet. Just read all you can and make the best decision for yourself. Wish you all the best.

Welcome to the board Krista. We are just a bunch of loser's and loser's wanna be's on here........lol. Just research,research, research, you can never learn too much about WLS. We can give our inputs on the differnet types to have, but you and your doctor are the ones that have to decided which is right for you and your situation. One of my favorite things to say is........You have to have this decision right in your head, before it will be right in your belly. The doctors are wonderful, but they are doing surgery on your belly and not your head....lol This surgery is only a tool and it is up to you how you use it. Well that is my 2cents for the day.............lol. Hope this helps, feel free to post away, you will get all kinds of info here. Keep us posted on your decison and progress. Oh and you will love talking with Marylin, she is awesome.

My first suggestion is to attend a seminar....they're awesome and trust me, Dr. Boyce and his staff are the best people you will ever meet.  Their office number is 865-694-9676...call and register for a seminar today!

Thanks Everyone for the warm Welcome.. I will post questions as I have them. I go on 8-8-08 for my tummy maping and my phyc. evaluation. I have been to the classes and I will start my support groups in August also. I have been told the RNY would be best for me with the weight I need to loose .but. they also gave me the band option. I have untill my last appt. with the Doc befor the surgery to make up my mind.
