It's time for our weekly "attitude of gratitude" festival!

This past week I read a couple of things that really made me feel good about "Tankful Tursday".  One was the daily blog I read...Lose Weight Find Life.  I've talked about Cathy and her daily ramblings and encouragement before.  But the other day, she posted something that was truly tied into "Tankful Tursday".  Here is her post:

Ask yourself the question each morning when you begin your day….”What am I grateful for in my life today?”

When you start your day from a place of gratitude your attitude will immediately shift to one of complete thanks for all you have in your life.  Are you grateful for all you have?  Are you waiting to lose weight to be grateful and live your life fully?  Do you feel your life is half empty rather than half full?  You get to choose the framework that you want to live from.  An attitude of gratitude will bring your closer to the success you are seeking.  “Are you grateful?  The answer to this question will set the tone for your day.

Believe In Yourself,
Cathy, Certified Life Coach
Weight Loss Surgery Coach

The other was an email from a very good friend here on the boards.  She just wanted to Thank me for this weekly post.  She said that if they focused on the positive, instead of the negative, then the day started out much brighter.

When I started this post, that was the main purpose...focus on the positive.  So, what am I Tankful for.

Life in general and the loving grace of God.  When I'm in a bad place mentally/emotionally/physically, some how, I'm always shown that my life is not all that bad.  the saying, "There but for the grace of God go I", always comes to mind!

So, what are you Tankful for on this glorious and grand Tursday?

I am truly Thankful for my loving son and husband, they have really been there for me especially since my surgery.  I have realized the past couple of months just how strong my husband's love for me actually is after almost 17 years of marriage.  I am also Thankful for the friends that called and/or come by to see me, knowing that I really needed to talk to someone, not to mention those that came and helped me after my surgery.  I will never forget those friends that truly stood by me when I needed a friend the most!!!  God provides even when we are not realizing it!!

Feel like is it my confession time. Maybe I just need to get  it out to feel better.

 1. I am so very thankful for my two beautiful daughters who keep me going every day. Without them I am afraid I would be lost, literally.

2. Someone recently broke into my home. I am so very thankful I nor my kids were at home when it happened and thankful no one was hurt.

 3. Depression has been getting the better of me hince I  have withdrawn into myself therefore have not been on the board that much. I am thakful that I can now deal with this and know I have friends who are willing to listen and be there for me.

4. I am thankful to God for giving me the strength to carry on even when everything seems to overwhelm me at times. I know that God is there for me and would not give me more than I can handle. These are the things that make me stronger. For his love and grace I am ever so thankful.

I am thankful for this forum where we can share information and enjoy one another's company.

I am thankful for Tim in my life because finally I know what it is like to experience love, both to give and receive.

I am thankful for my parents who are so supportive of me.  I don't see or talk to them near enough.

I am thankful for my protein drinks which keep me healthy.

I am thankful for friends that God has placed in my life.  I received an email from an old college friend and it did my heart good.

I am thankful because at any moment, one instance such as an accident, heart attack, anything could happen to change my life as I know it.  I don't want to spend my time worrying about "what could be" or "what if" but I am going to savor every happy moment as if it is the last.  I am thankful that others want to enjoy their lives like this too.

Also I am so thankful that  god has given us all a second chance at life, and through all he has shined through and put us all in this place at this time for a reason. For all of my sisters in the journey that have gone through the trial and tribulations physically and emotions that I have or that I've yet to of had. Just thank you for the support, ahead of time in case I am to wrapped up to let you know.

I am thankful for:

*My beautiful children.  I would truly be nothing without them and they are my everything.  They love me no matter what and accept me and my size unconditionally.  They are angels sent into my life and have shows me the real meaning of love.

*This website!  In all of my attempts at WLS, I always turned here for support.  It's such a great place for support, encouragement, learning, and compassion plus empathy.

*I am thankful for the simple fact that (at the moment) I have food, shelter, and clothing.  Just with those three alone, I am richer than most people in the world.  I am BLESSED.

Hi Scott,

I am so very thankful for the friends that I have in my life. I would be making this journey alone if it weren't for them because my family are not behind me in this. Most of my friends live far away but, near or far,  they never let me forget they are in my corner. I am rich with love.

I'm thankful that you folks here let me be a member of the TENNESSEE forum "family" even though I'm in Alabama. This place feels more comfy and like "home" - probably because I had my WLS surgery by Dr. Richards at Vandy, as many here have.
