Belly button infections
Ok, so I have ALOT of extra skin on my stomach that closes my belly button. Its starting to get red and inflamed. Is there anything that I can do to help prevent this? I am gonna go and get it documented in my medical records. That way its easier for me to get my insurance to pay for my tummy tuck.

Always take pictures and like you said document it. I have the same problem especially around the time for my period. I just boil it out with peroxide everyday and add alcohol because it will evaporate and dry the moisture up. I do this everyday so that I won't get a flare up but don't do the alcohol if it is inflamed or it will set you on fire. When it is inflamed I use the peroxide and use q-tips to dry it up, sometimes use diaper rash ointment if it is very bad.
hope this helps

Gidget,
Once you implement Darlene's method, you can also try this. Once you have gotten your belly button completely dry, apply Monistat, using a Q-tip, all around and inside it. What you are actually developing is a yeast infection (most likely). If that doesn't work, the doctor can certainly give you something stronger to apply topically. Although I don't have a lot of loose skin (yet), I have had this problem with my belly button for years because it is so deep from several laproscopic procedures. Hope that helps, but you are doing the right thing by going to the doctor to get it documented.
Hope it's better soon.
