Fantastic News

Hey my friends, I sure have missed you.  Hoping that will change when I get back to LaVergne tomorrow as I'm east of Knoxville at the moment.   My younger son has been unemployed and having to sleep in his truck and shower at truck stops.  He lives an hour's drive from me.  He called tonight with some great news.  About a year ago, he wrote a song, Chris McDowell (nephew of Ronnie McDowell a country singer from Portland, TN where my son lives), put the lyrics to music.  Tonight George Strait called my son personally and wants to meet with him and Chris to do all the paperwork and legal stuff so he can put it on his new CD this fall to be released next spring.  He was so excited about it.  Said George told him he had been listening to it all day and loved it, plus he wants to see what else Scott has written.   I am thrilled for him.  George Strait is my favorite country singer.  Scott is currently writing one for me called "Each day is a blessing" based on my thought that each day I wake up is a blessing, when I feel pain from the leukemia I'm alive.   He's always wanted to be apart of the music world, but doesn't know how to put his songs to music.  In the recorded version that he and Chris did, my son sings background.  They cut a CD of this song, but it never went anywhere as far as we new, but apparently Chris has been trying to get it recorded in Nashville, as everyone who has listened to it, has loved it.  On the CD was my son's name and phone number including Chris's.  I pray this will come to be on George's next CD, my son is having a hard time finding a job and can't pay the child support.   I'm doing fine, except living in a motel with just a microwave and a fridge, that's the only way I am able to cook in the room is by microwave.  So I haven't been able to eat things that are good for me.  Things I can put in a microwave are high in carbs, so I'm still holding at 136-141 lbs.  But I am in physical therapy now, so I am able to work out on the treadmill.  I spoke to an attorney regarding the surgery.  I still don't have much of a voice and still in a lot of pain.  I do eat a lot of ice chips to sooth my throat.  I want to lose 20 lbs so I can get back into my size 6's.   I just wanted to share his happy news with y'all.   New grandson is now 2 months old and a living doll.  He's a cuddler and I just adore him.  His 3 yr old brother loves to kiss his little brother even when mom is nursing.  He'll come over and kiss Dylan on the forehead, then cover his brother's face back up so mom has some privacy.  He's so cute and so possive (sp) of Dylan. Good night my friends, see you on Saturday.  Love ya

Kathy,            That is wonderful, maybe this is the break he has been looking forward too!!!  It is difficult to get into the music business as a singer, musician, or as a songwriter, so to have a large name like George Strait to be interested, that is a MAJOR deal!!!  I will keep him, as well as, your health in my prayers!!

Kathy, that is wonderful, isn't it amazing how good things come when you least expect them?! Yes, I do read your posts but sometimes my feelings are hard to put into words, but I would obviously give you a big hug and a smile if you were within arms reach. Take care!
