Hi Dorothy! I am a beach bum at heart and that was my question to my surgeon when I was getting discharged after surgery. Now, I didn't have drains and my surgery was laproscopic but he told me in about 3-4 days after being home. You may want to contact your surgeon and ask though.

Ditto that Bob, it's because any kind of infection can set into the incisions, and it's not a positive outcome for you. But you can lay out just, be sure to turn over. And take a squirt bottle of water with ya. to spirtz.

I'm thinking Dr. McDowell told me 8 weeks, or until the scars heal. I could be wrong, but he wanted to make sure that everything healed. Check with the doc to make sure though.
