Look out - Scott may actually DO that! Congratulations! I agree... start weaning yourself off/out of your habits that you HAVE to change - biggies: carbonation, sugar, etc., and work on putting into place effective, long-term lifestyle changes - exercise, smaller bites, etc. Also, (and my peeps that haven't seen MY face in months will laugh that I'm the one suggesting this...) start going to support group things now. Incorporate them into your life. Most ofthe time I make it to Lunch Bunch, but I've never been to Dinner Club, and I haven't been to my Baptist Support Group meeting in months (cannot BELIEVE I missed the protein party!) If there's one thing I would change, that would be it! (And now I must!) Get ready, sweet lady... this is one of, if not THE MOST, exciting time of your life! Congratulations again! ~ Tara

Renee, Congratulations, girl!  You are going to do great.  I agree with everything everyone else has said to you already with a couple of additions.  If I had known about this book in advance, I would have bought it. "It Ain't Over 'til the thin lady sings" by Michelle Ritchie.  I am reading it now, but it would have made a world of difference for me if I had it back before surgery.  Knowledge is power, right?  I also suggest going to http://www.bariatriceating.com/ and ordering the protein sample pack.  It gave me several different ideas for protein and in small amounts for after surgery.  Also, get a good blender, I use the magic bullet but there are tons of others out there.  You will want it for protein smoothies.  Keep coming here and ask, ask, ask!
