TN web site available for tracking...
Hey to all my OH friends!! Hope you all are doing well on this wonderful journey!
I wanted to share this email that I received today from a friend.
"Hello,
I wanted to let you know that we launched new, free Web tools on the Get Fit Tennessee Web site today. If you've been using the Fitness Tracker we launched earlier this year, then you know how simple it is to stay on track with exercise and challenge others to join you for healthy competitions. This has proven to be a useful tool in many communities already and we're getting great feedback from some of you who have planned county-wide Get Fit events or Fitness Tracker challenges specific to your community.
Today, we are pleased to tell you that we've launched the new and improved Health & Fitness Tracker, with new tools to track nutrition. The new tools include a daily online food journal and a calorie calculator. The online food journal will allow you to search the database of foods and drinks to log what you consume at every meal, including snacks. The calorie calculator allows you to look up the amount of calories in foods that you eat, so you can log those foods and the correct calorie amount in your food journal.
You can add custom foods to your food journal if you can't find something you typically eat, or if it is a specific food from a restaurant or a special homemade recipe that just isn't listed in our database. You can also save custom foods you create in your favorites and plug them directly into your food journal each time you log in.
The Health Goals section has been updated to allow for tracking weight, tobacco use, and lab values like blood glucose and hemoglobin A,C. In addition, check out the new Weight Loss Challenge in the competitions section of the Health and Fitness Tracker. You can enter our Get Fit Challenge to lose weight and compete with others who sign up for the Challenge. It's all on the Web site at: www.getfittn.com.
The site is free and for all Tennesseans so spread the word to your families, friends, and community. Attached is a copy of what you will see when you sign up, log in and click on the Health and Fitness Tracker.
Best Regards,
Susan R. Cooper, MSN, RN
Commissioner"
Wishing you may successes!!!
