Anyone use him? Looks like either plan with Aetna this is the only Doctor that does the WLS.  Has anyone used him or head anything about him.  He is over at Vandy.

Do you mean Dr. William Richards? We have a few who have used him. I'm sure they will be on at some point to give you feedback. I know they have good things to say about him. Good luck!

P E A C E - It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

I used Dr. Williams, he is at Vanderbuilt.  He is very good at his job.  Bedside manners could use some work, but I was very pleased with my surgery and I know others on here that have used him and have great things to say about him.

Hello! I would like to put my two pennies in if I may. I am asigned to Dr. Richards and will be having my surgery on the 21st. I looked up his resume or CV and I can assure you that he appears to be a man that is dedicated to his work. I have yet to meet him in person but will have that pleasure next Thursday as I will see him first thing that morning and will be spending the day at Vandy to complete the rest of my pre-op requirements. Good luck and I do wish you all the best in your journey.

OMG, how exciting for you!  Are you thrilled to have a day set?  You will have to update us all when you go meet him!!!

Do you mind me asking who your PCP is?

Thanks, and congrats!

I am overly thrilled to have a date. I will let everyone know how my meeting goes with him, but I think it's gonna be different, I can tell because his office nurse Brenda called me all day yesterday scheduling appointments and rescheduling appointments and we really had a fun time...but, that's another story. I did tell her to let Dr. Richards know ahead of time that he had a live one, in spite of his bedside manner, I'm still a live wire.......LOL

Unfortunately, my PCP is Dr. Alma M. Tamula here is Shelbyville. She is so awesome. I can't say enough about her. I went to see her yesterday and she is thrilled and overjoyed that I'm finally getting to the surgery.

Dr. Richards is my surgeon. He is the Medical Director of the Weight Loss Center at Vandy. He performed my Lap RNY on 4/28/08. I think he's top notch and really knows his stuff.   I've done exactly what he and his staff have told me to do and  haven't had any problems at all.  I would recommend him and his staff to anyone considering WLS.  He may not have as outgoing a personality as some others, but he is a first class WL Surgeon, IMO.
