I know I haven't been around much but hoped this would be good for those just beginning their journey...here is the dress I designed and made with my mother's help (okay she did most of the sewing but I designed it) Why design your won? To SHOW THE GOOD AND HIDE THE BAD...notice what part of my arms it shows and what it doesn't....and yes it is *****hed at the waist to see the fact that I now have a waist line....PTL. Oh I guess I'll put it in my profile cause that's all I know to do.. Elizabeth

I really like the dress.  I like that it showed your arms but not the underside that hangs ( or at least in my casr hangs.  You look amazing.

Elizabeth, I just love that dress.  It is perfect for folks like me who have batwings! Marilyn

Hey Beth! I am glad to see you.  I wondered recently where you had been.  The dress is very pretty! I would have never guessed that you didn't pay a gob of money for it off the showroom floor! lol I love the chains on the shoulders.

You guys are the best....I failed to mention...I designed and made the dress for my 20th class reunion. The most expensive part of the dress were the earrings I took apart to make the rings that held the top together. The material was 2.99 a yard and 100 percent poly. IT drapped well and was thin enough to not be hot. I thought I would be outside as the name of the place was pier II that we were having the reunion. IT turns out that it was a docked old steamboat that was beautiful and air conditioned. It does hide the bat wings. I got lots of comments. It was weird being one of the smaller people there for once. My husband even smiled last night when looking at the pictures......HE is so sweet. Designs for gastric bypass patients? HMMM!  Feel free to copy anything. Elizabeth

You know, that dress looked like Satin material to me!  It was pretty.  Hey I had a couple of entrepreneurial (sp?) ideas too.  Such as, hospital cards for gastric bypass patients who just had surgery.  You can't very well say "get well soon" as they aren't sick.  I usually take a birthday card!  I need one that says "welcome, big loser" lol or something like that. Also, I have another thought in mind but its something I may develop, so I wont share. Someone might steal this one!

How funny.....I was just telling my husband that I was going to start making shirts that hide my bat wings!!!! Greetings cards that is a good idea....you are right Melinda there are not any good choices for people that have WLS.....maybe I should work on that....LOL.

Beautiful Dress and a genius design. I told my daughter the other day that I wanted to design clothes for WLS patients and she can draw the designs for me since she is an artist.
