Will having the paper work resent to the correct department help? It's sad but you do have to keep calling and calling.  This isn't as important to anybody as it is to ourselves. Good Luck, Hon!

Hi Renee! I am so sorry that it's taking so long!  I'm sure someone may have better advice than I do. Luckily, my process went smoothly with the paperwork. What I can say is that when there was a delay I called both insurance and the doctor's office regularly.  I just stayed on top of it. Now, when you call insurance you probably get some front line claims rep and they are generally no help!  They told me once when I called that it take about 5 business days from when the fax is sent to them before it gets to the dept who will actually review.  And, that they couldn't even tell me if they got the fax until approx. 5 business days after it was sent!  What in the world... that was craziness to me. As a matter of fact, when that happened I was giving them a few days to determine IF they received the fax and wouldn't you know, I got a call from the surgeon's office a couple days later telling me I was approved.  I know it's frustrating and I know how you feel.  But, stay on top of it.  Call both the doctor's office and the insurance company and tell the one what the other said. Make them get their ducks in a row. And, though I'm normally calm, cool and collected, it never hurts to let the surgeon's office know that you aware that they are not the only ones who can do the surgery.  You are the customer and if they want the money then they will work for it.  If you aren't happy with what is happening then let them know.  Luckily, my surgeon's office was always on top of things.  Any time I called they gave me answers right then or called back/ emailed me quickly.  And, they gave me timeframes for a process.  So, at this point let them know that what the insurance says doesn't jive with what they are telling you.  Good luck and God bless!

Renee, first of all...Take a deep breath! What you described is the exact same thing that I went through.  Insurance blamed the Dr.'s office for sending it to the wrong department.  The Dr's office blamed insurance.  The only thing you can do is ...Take a deep breath and wait!  It will happen in due time. I think this is the hardest part of the surgery...waiting for approval!  Our prayers are with you!
