lapband surgery 2 days ago
hello all, my name is sandra and i just had my surgery 2 days ago! It seem to take forever to get to this point. Right now i am just concentrating on getting my fluids down me and it is hard! The surgery went great and now i just have to get with the program. I lost 46 lbs. while i was waiting on my aproval from my insurances so i have 50 more to go. my friend came and stayed with me and she already had to surgery so she has been a great help. As of monday i am on my own, but i will be ok. It is just scary sometimes. good luck all and have a good day.
Hey Sandra, congrats on the weight loss. You will do just fine as long as you do as the docs say.....lol. You are not alone in this, we here on the board are here for you, so just post away. I had Lapband almost a year ago and have no regrets......well just one...I wish I had done it a long time ago. You are right it is scary at times, but you will do just fine. Keep us posted on your progress.

Sandra,
Congrats on your surgery and you are in a great place as this board is a wonderful location to get support.
I may not post often but it is one of the first things in the morning and one of the last things in the evening I do each day along with other times throughout each day. It is amazing how often someone out here on the TN board has or is going through something similar to my daily struggles.
I had band surgery in August of last year and am loving it every day. You are doing awesome and you will have the other 50 off in no time. Welcome to the "Losers Bench".
Good morning, and welcome to the lapband world!! just a little advice for all your problems and lots of support for lapband go to Forums at the very top of this page ,then scroll down to lapband there we all share our special lapband problems and give each other lots of support We are from all over even Australia and England~~ and yes from Tennessee too! Our band issues are very different than those that have had an RNY and most have had Rny on the state boards . It does not matter what state your are from, we are all banded togther , I understand how hard the first several weeks are ,but it gets 100% better .. hang in there , this is your healing time and giving your new band time to seat itself Your stomach also needs time to rest from the irritation of being banded and handled .. I sometimes browse thru the Tennessee board to see if anyone has been newly banded.I wish you the very best of luck and good health

Welcome to the Tennessee Board Sandra! This is the friendliest place on earth! Ask any thing you would like, and answer any you can! Even though we have all had different surgeries, from different Dr's and at different hospitals, we are all the same. Just someone trying to shed what obesity has done to us for a long time!
So, while here, you will need something to sit on. so, may I offer this Losers Bench as a place of rest after a long day of walking. May it be a place of comfort while sipping on your favorite beverage. Most important, may this bench be splinter free!
Congrats on your surgery and keep us posted on your success!
If you would like a copy of this bench, send me a PM with your home email address!
