Hooray... I'm Home!

OK, sooo I'm home now. I got discharged a few hours ago. First, thanks bunches to my visitors Cheryl & Phil and Dawn! It made me feel so much better.  Dawn brought beautiful roses and they just brightened up the room! Thanks chic! And, thanks Melinda for the call and checking up! So, the verdict is that I was malnourished and dehydrated. They put a PICC line in my arm (not pleasant!)  The first 2 days I was just allowed ice water. Friday, Dr. Houston wanted me to eat. I did OK considering it was hospital food (yuck). I really hoped to leave Friday but the doc wanted me to stay until Saturday to ensure I would still eat. Let me tell you about the verbal spanking Dr. Houston gave me... oh my gosh!  He said that if I ended up admitted again for this same thing he "would not be happy". Got to love his straight forward nature! So, the doc said that I have to force myself to eat 3 meals I day. Whether I like it or not.  As you all who are post op know, that is no easy task sometimes.  But, he said the reason I was nauseous all the time was because of the malnutrition. That is a vicious little cycle you don't want to find yourself in.  So, listen up ya'll and learn from me! And, of course since I've been sick, I've not exercised and I HATE that. But, I feel so much better and now very focused on making sure I eat.  I have a game plan! I WILL make this happen. On a good note. I've lost another 6 lbs as of when I was weighed at the hospital Wednesday.  So, 46 lbs gone forever. I've been saying that I've lost a small child LOL Thank you to all who sent up prayers for me. It was appreciated!  You all have a blessed weekend!

Gald you are home and doing better. You are more than welcome for the visit......I hope Phil didn't bore you to tears with all of his stories....lol. I've had one of those verbal spankings before from the docs and they are not fun..........but they just care and that is why they do that. And really we know it's the truth anyway, we just sometimes need to hear it from somebody else......ya know. Hope you get up to speed real soon. Let us know if you need anything. Cheryl

I'm glad you're home Chandra and you eat something girl. My hubby would make my protein drinks real thick and slushy sometimes and I would eat it with a spoon. I also could always eat a boiled egg if nothing else (scrambled eggs not so much). Right now when I don't feel like eating, I will wrap some deli turkey around some string cheese and eat that. Maybe you can try some cottage cheese with sf jello or pudding mixed in it. Take care of yourself.
