Well, Tankful Tursday is upon us once again! This last week, I asked all of you great people to list one thing you were thankful for each day. If my calculations are correct (7 x 1=7), you should have 7 things that you are full of gratitude about. Now, from those 7, pick one item that you are truly grateful for and list it below My 1 item is my family! After spending the weekend with my Mom and Dad, I realize how supportive my family is. Not only Mom and Dad, but RJ, Beth, my sister…The list could go on and on. So, my one item that I am thankful for on Tankful Tursday is my family! What about you? Who’s next! If this is your first foray into Tankful Tursday, here is a link to tell you all about it!

Scott I will blog on this later, but I got emotional on my way out of the parking garage last night...  my thought was on Tyra Banks.  I remember when she put on the "fat suit" and went out in public. (I hate using the term fat suit but that is what they call it.)   No one knew it was her and she was in tears by the end of the day because she was treated so differently as obese.  A skinny person can always put on a fat suit to see how obese people are treated.  But, obese people cannot "take off" their "suit" to see how people are treated.  It's not that easy.  Yesterday a thought came to mind.  I GOT TO TAKE OFF THE FAT SUIT!  I am fortunate to get to experience life as a thin person.  It feels wonderful.  I never knew what it was like, and there was no "thin suit" I could try on to experience it briefly...  but after much hard work, sacrifice, and the gift of wls, I GET to see what its like...  that is quite a humble honor.

Boy chossing just one is hard to do, but I will agree with you my dear brother and say that family is what I am truly thankful for.  Each and ever family member has a special meaning for me and without then I could not be as succeful as I am, in all areas of my life.  So my number on is FAMILY.

My number 1 for this Tankful Tursday is going to have to be my loving boyfriend. He has helped me through alot the past month we have been together. I don't know where I'd be without him. He is such an honorable and loving man. Just to share one thing about him is he is a volunteer firefighter. Yesterday afternoon as tired as he was he got a call for a house fire, threw on some clothes and went. Then he had to get ready to work 3rd shift at his job. He thinks of everyone else before himself, even if they are a total stranger. I never knew a man like him and I am "Tankful" that I have gotten the chance to have him now.

First of all...I would like to say I am sooooo happy for you Laura...you deserve someone to treat you well!!!!!   I am thankful for so many things...I am definitely thankful for my husband and children, but I want to make a special mention about all of my OH friends...I don't know what I would do without your support....When I was undecided about  having the surgery after I was approved, I was given such wonderful advice, and let me tell you I LOVE MY BAND!!!  So for those of  you that gave me a gentle kick in the butt, THANKS!!!  I love the fact that my TN OH friends support one another despite the difference in surgery choice...It certainly isn't that way everywhere on this site!!!  Thank You OH friends for all of the support and advice!!!

Hi Scott!

Great thread, by the way!  I am thankful that I have good health.  It has been many years since I have been able to say that I was in good health but...I am!  I can walk outside when it is hot, I can run up the flight of stairs in my house, I can keep up with my daughter!

I am so grateful for my good health!

Freddie

I'm thankful for my husband and children. The children are such a blessing to me and have been since day 1. My husband came along and picked up the pieces of a broken me and helped me put myself back together. He cares for me in every way and does the things for me that I can't do myself. I know in my heart that God brought him to me just when I needed him most and now, I want to get healthy so I can be the kind of wife he deserves to have. One who can do for herself and give back to him Karen

What a wonderful idea! I'm grateful that after all this time I was led to the clinic I have signed with. The entire team, individually and as a whole, have been a blessing in every way as I've taken the often shakey steps toward a new me. I'm doing this without a lot of family support and most of my friends live in distant places, so having this great group of people close by means everything. Rebecca
