Nope, not really. My OB was very aware of WLS patients and had some in the past (just not as soon as myself). I took an extra calcium pill because I was getting leg cramps, but a lot of women get those. I just had to eat more, smaller meals, which most women end up having to do by the last trimester. I just had to do it from the very beginning. My labs were followed a little more closely and I didn't have to do the glucose test cuz it would have caused major dumping. My doc just monitored my Hemoglobin A1C about three different times and my levels were always in the normal zone, so nothing to worry about there. The only difference was I probably got more ultrasounds than normal, because my doc wanted to monitor the baby's growth and percentile. Mostly because I had low weight gain. But other than that it was a normal (?!?!?) pregnancy.
My advice though, is to wait longer than I did. It was a surprise, pleasant, but still a surprise. I didn't think I could get pregnant and then here I am preggers only three months from surgery. I kept loosing until I was about four months along in the pregnancy and then had very minimal gain until the end. Ended up gaining 15 pounds and lost 20 within three weeks. Now I'm at a stall!!! whaa
Anyway, if you ever have any questions, feel free to ask. I don't get offended by curiosity!! lol Good luck and keep us posted! ~~Elena

It's a shame noone has told you yet how fast that time will fly.. that it will be here before you know it!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Now's a good time to start breaking some of those habits like... weaning yourself off cokes and straws and changing from sugar to splenda and/or sugar free... and one I wish I'd done --- teach yourself how to sip instead of gulf (ha ha) 'cause after surgery it's sip, sip, sip! That was probably the hardest thing for me to do!!!
Anyway - we're excited for you --- we're all scoochin' over to make room for you on the loser's bench!
