How did you know?

When it was time to up your food calories? What is the average amount of calories you were eatting at 5.5 months out?

I have hit a small stall in the weight loss. I am not sure if I am eatting enough calories. I am getting in my protein and water. But still not sure about the calorie intake. I keep getting conflicting information from the booklet my Dr gave me before surgery. Any advice would be great.

I think it depends on your individual situation...the closer to your goal/the further out from surgery, the slower the weight loss and it depends on how much exercise you are doing..call your doc and nut for advice :-)

I hate the booklet that they gave us.  I don't think they read it before they printed it!  It does have conflicting advice.  I can say, though, that Dr Bolar told me to up my calories some and I did, and began to lose again.  I am now at about 750-800 most days. Marilyn

Hey Gidget!   I'm at 6 months out and in the same situation.  Right now, I am about 15-20 pounds from goal and have asked the same question!  When I went to my Doc a few weeks ago, I filled out the form he gives us and said I was between 800-1000 calories a day (most of the time I'm on the lower end).  He said to keep it between 600-800 per day.  But that was my Doc and not yours, every one seems to say different things.  My nut did say I could start having different foods though! Another idea to look at is the amount of exercise you do.  Exercise builds muscle mass .  Muscle weighs more that fat.  So, as you do your exercise each day ( by the way-you put most of us to shame, keep it up,) you are building muscle which is a good thing! It's not easy, but you are doing great!
