Phil again-might be too much info for some.
Just wanted everyone to know that Phil may be going back in the hospital in the morning. Today the wound vac lost the seal, so we took it off and when we did we noticed that the drainage was just all under the bandage and did not go into the vac. We are not sure how long it has been like that, the machine did sound the alarm and that is when we took it off. It was a big mess, when he would flex his foot gunk would shoot out of it, sorry if this it too much info. The nurse that came out yesterday put a new bandage on it and at that time it looked fine. But with wounds like this things can happen real quick. Anyway, we called his foot doctor and he told us to come straight to the office. We got there and he started working on him, cutting, digging, etc. There was blood everywhere, he worked on him for about 45 mins. He was and still is in quite a bit of pain, he doesn't have a whole lot of feeling in that foot anyway, but he felt alot of this. He bandaged it up and wrapped it up and told him to keep it elevated and to stay off of it. We are to unwrap it first thing in the morning and call the doctor and tell him how it looks, feels, and to see how much drainge there is. After that he will make a decision on what to do. If theydo admit him, they will be opening it up again like they did before. Not sure if it will be both sides or not. So once again, we need your thoughts and prayers for this to be ok. We have been through so much and it just seems that everything is still going wrong and we can't get ahead. We was all ready and getting to leave to go to Dr. Morton's office for Phil to fill out his "nut" paperwork and turn it in, then we was just going to hang around and go to the support group. Needless to say we didn't do get to do that. I will post tomorrow as soon as I know something. Cheryl
