Holy Crap - THAT was an AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!

We decided to ride down to Barber Motorsports Museum in Leeds, AL this morning. It is just east of Birmingham. We headed east on 431, met up with the other couple we ride with at about 9:15 a.m., and off we went.  At about 10:30 everyone was wanting to eat, so we stopped at McDonalds in Gadsden, AL.  I ordered 2 eggs. I took the first bite, which had a funky taste and a very rubbery texture. I chewed the heck out of that little dime-sized bite and swallowed. I immediately thought something felt strange, but the sensation went away after a few seconds. I waited a couple of minutes and took another dime-size bite, chewed like crazy, then swallowed. Same weird sensation - I knew something was wrong.  I stopped eating, sat there a minute, and my wife and the other couple asked what was wrong. They said I was as pale as  ghost. Then I felt like I had a brick lodged in my chest, then a severe burning sensation, and then this weird foamy junk was coming up in my mouth.  Holy Crap - I had to run to the men's room, barely making it in time to spew!  Then I felt somewhat better, but still not right. There was still a feeling that something was stuck in my throat-pouch area. I went back, sat down and felt miserable.  It got so bad that I went to the rear of the joint and had to lie down in a booth under an AC vent.

I was one miserable son of a gun, I tell ya.  After about 10 minutes, back to the men's room, foamy crap spewing out like crazy, then it subsided again.  This went on for about 30 minutes or more, then I finally blew the remaining bite of eggs out. Ahhhhh - finally, relief from the misery.  Took about 15 minutes more to regain my strength and get over it enough to continue riding the motorcycle.

I don't know what the heck brought that on. First time I have had any problem like that, and hope like heck it's the last!  I don't think those were real eggs, and believe they may have been cooked very early in the morning and re-heated when I ordered them. They were like silly putty instead of eggs. At any rate, it was definitely a horrible experience which I hope to never repeat.

We continued on to the Motorsports Museum and enjoyed the heck out of it. It is an awsome display of motorcycles - from the late 1800's thru to the modern machines of today, street bikes, racing bikes, off road, as well as some sports cars and vintage cars - most in pristine condition.   After about 3 hours we headed back home.

Stopped at 4:00 and ate. I had about 2 oz. of sirloin steak and 2 oz. of grilled chicken. Didn't have any problem at all with that.   It must have been the silly putty eggs at Mickey D's that caused the problem.

Note to Self:  Don't eat eggs at Micky D's.   Glad you are feeling better and dinner was more successful than breakfast had been.  I will have to tell Pat about the motorcycle place.  He likes to look at that kind of stuff.  It might be a fun weekend away from Nashville.  :-)   Anyway, glad you are better tonight.

Tawnya, it's a pretty cool exhibit. You could easily spend all day in there looking at all those motorcycles and exhibits. In fact, they sell a 3-day weekend pass.  I wouldn't spend 3 days there, but a whole day wouldn't be bad at all.  Check it out on the internet - Barber Motorsports Museum.

Sorry, Bob. I know that was awful. People on the other boards call it the foamies. Happens when you eat something your pouch doesn't like. Have you been able to eat eggs at other times? Maybe it was just those particular eggs. I've read other people post that it is a good idea to wait awhile before trying to eat again after that happens. I hope you feel better soon. Blessings, Karen

Yeah, Karen, I've eaten eggs at home and at Cracker Barrell and had no problems at all.  There seemed to be something wrong with those "eggs" from McDonalds.  They were just not right - rubbery textue and a weird taste.

I guess we will have to be careful where we eat after surgery. It would be bad to have something like that happen in public. I'm sorry your day was ruined. BLessings, Karen

Yeah Bob I think your title was so appropriate! HOLY CRAP! Sounds like those rubbery eggs were not slick enough to slide on down...  I agree with someone who said:  Note to self:  Don't eat at McD's...  Note to self:  Don't eat rubbery eggs! Sorry that happened; I'm sure you will walk softly around eggs from now on!  It usually has that kind of response when a certain food gets you like that.

Welcom to the International Foamies Club! I guess it goes to show you even McD's healthy food is still crap! C'ya Bob

You know, fast food is nothing but junk and when I eat it, it makes me sick every time.  I have not had but a bite of this or that on a few occassions but, it gets me each time.  I can't believe that I lived for that stuff at one time!!! LOL  Hate that you had this but, very glad that it passed and you were able to enjoy the rest of your trip!!!
