Challenged Tonite
Tonight, I went out to dinner at Chili's with my sister and her family. I shared a salad with my sis and things were going fine. Until...the boys ordered molten lava cakes for dessert. And, they kept asking me to have some. I told them I couldn't then sat there and said to myself "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels" over and over again. It was NOT easy, but I made it through. Dessert has always been my weakness. Thanx to all of you for helping me though. As I sat there, I kept thinking about all the work we all do each and every day to lose weight. So, without being there, you all were my support!

Way to go Marilyn!
It does get easier, everyday! I have chronicled here about all the sweets that people bring in when we have dinners at work. At first it was pure HELL !!!!!!!! Now it's not so bad!
This last week we had a cook out. When all the desserts were brought out, they looked, smelled, and I'm sure tasted delicious. When my Nemesis came to the table, I was standing there, she said, "Are you going to have any?". I said no, but she could have my part. Later in the day, she came to my desk and said it was my fault she was miserable. (She was laughing) She said she ate a piece of everything in my honor! Oh well! At least I wasn't miserable!
Keep it up, we are all very proud of you!
Marilyn, Sweets have always been my weakness as well. I am proud of you for saying NO and sticking to it. It would not have been worth the taste of one bite to get sick and feel bad about yourself for one minute.
I found that for me, when temptation arises, to have a Sugar Free piece of chocolate in my desk (in a drawer not frequently used) and have it when the risk of me giving in is great. Then the sweet sensation is satisfied, I don't feel like I gave in to the really bad stuff and I am proud of myself for sticking to the plan.
GREAT JOB!!! You are an inspiration to us all. Thanks for sharing your weak moments.

Marilyn,
I understand exactly where you are coming from. That dessert and brownies were my absolute all time favorites and I love Chili's and we eat there all the time when we go out (I usually get an order of grilled shrimp and a side order of black beans). But, what I've started doing when we go out to eat is I carry a piece (just one) of Russell Stover's Sugar Free candy with me. That way if my husband decides to have dessert and it's really tempting me, I can just pull out my piece of candy and have dessert too. It has helped me out quite a bit. Hang in there, as everyone said, it will get easier to say "No Thanks" and you will be so much better for it.
By the way, thanks for the clothes you sent. I got them today and was thrilled. There were a few things I couldn't wear (too big - YIPPEE), but for the most part, everything was a keeper. Thanks so much, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your genorosity and thoughtfulness.
