Timeline to attain Surgery date

Susan, I have put the June 21 date on my calendar.  Is the July support group at Baptist July 10 @5:30pm?

I met with Dr. Morton today and if you have met the criteria that medicare requires all you have to do is schedule a date to have surgery. You can call the office and the girls in the insurance department would be more than happy to help you out. Dr. Morton is very nice and I believe you will really like him. :0) Tina

I have always dealt with Amy at Dr. Morton's office.  Should I call and talk to someone in the insurance department too?  How long did it take you to get an appointment with Dr. Morton?  I will call them next Tuesday to set up an appointment.  Have you started your two week liquid diet and do you have a surgery date?

I faxed my final paperwork on a Monday and got the approval call on Thursday!!! I was in shock!!! I guess once I jumped thru the hoops they gave me a speedy approval...not at all what I expected!!

Had you seen Dr. Morton before you faxed your final paperwork?  Have you scheduled you surgery?

I see Dr. Morton for the first time Monday June 2nd, and my surgery is June 5th...

How were you able to schedule your surgery without seeing Dr. Morton first?  Are you on your two week liquid diet?  I can't schedule an appointment until after I see my PCP on Tuesday, June 3.  I plan on calling his office as sooon as I get home from the PCP to get the ball rolling.  Amy, at Dr. Morton's office never told me I could schedule my surgery before seeing him.  If that's the case I will start my liquid diet on Tuesday! Well, I received the call from Amy telling me that my ins had approved the surgery...This was on a Thursday...She then asked me if I was ready to schedule my surgery...I was soooooo in shock I asked if I could call her back...I called her the following Monday, and she scheduled my hospital pre-op..(to be done on Monday, June 2nd) and Dr. Appt with Dr. Morton later that same afternoon, and my surgery the following Thursday June 5th...I have been to the office and met some of the staff doing the preliminary things, but Monday will be the very first time I will meet Dr. Morton.  I wouldn't start my liquid diet until Dr. Morton's office  instructed me to do so because you sure don't want any extra days doing that!!! It is killing me...I have cheated a little, but I confessed this to Dawn at Dr. Morton's office and she said for me to not cheat any more than I already had, and that it was very important to adhere to the Diet closely especially the week prior to surgery.
