Tell me what you think

I am trying to figure out a new way to get protein in for a quick breakfast. I love the chocolate chip pure protein bars, of course when I have one I also want milk to go with it, because in my head I'm thinking milk and cookies.....lol So how does this sound, one pure protien bar and one can of vanilla slimfast/slimright (kroger brand) for breakfast? That will give me my milk fix and I'm getting in protein. Too much, not enough what'ca think? Anyone, anybody... Are bandsters allowed to drink with a meal? I thought you all had to follow the "no drinking with meals and for 1 hour after a meal" rule. It seems to me that drinking the milk or Slim Fast with the bar would wash the food through the band quicker and leave you hungry before your next meal. Personally, I would have either the bar or the drink and then 2 hours later have the other. Same amount of protein, same number of calories, but since you are eating every 2 hours you stay satisfied longer.

I can only speak for me, but while I was losing weight, I walked very softly around/near protein bars.  I still am very cautious.  Wendy turned me on to a Slim Fast meal replacement bar that I love, the choc chip granola, but its 190 calories.  I always eat 1/2 and keep the other 1/2 for later.  Too high calories for my personal choice all at once.  Due to the fact that they have higher carbs than protein shakes they are not always the best choice and probably shouldn't be used but a few times a week.  The highere carbs and sugar alchohols can stall weight loss....  But its about personal choice. Kinda like the age old questoin:  milk, to use or not to use  So many differing opinions

Cheryl, I hate to tell you to go somewhere else, but, you may need to go to a lapband site for more info.  As a RNY, I don't drink when I eat.  I do eat protein bars occasionally but only as a meal replacement. Marilyn
