Info on Walk for Obesity please
We would love to have you join us. The walk will be Saturday, September 20th at Centennial Park in Nashville, starting at 9am. It will be marked for 1, 2, or 3 miles and you walk at your own pace. This year's route will be a lot more level than in years past so it should be easier.
When you register for the walk and pay your $25 fee, you will be given a t-shirt the morning of the walk. There will also be "goodie" bags for registered walkers. We have a very special speaker on board for this year. I think everyone will be very excited to meet him and hear what he has to say.
All of the funds raised go to research and education to combat obesity. Thus it is the Walk FROM Obesity. This year's focus is again childhood obesity. We would love to see the obesity epidemic in America resolved so that no one ever needs to have weight loss surgery.
Maybe you can put together a team of East Tennesseans and come as one big group. Once Nashville is set up on the Walk website, you can go in and create your team and then just start recruiting people to sign up for your team and start raising donations.
Website is www.walkfromobesity.com. Then you will click to join a walk and select the city. We are currently waiting for the city locations to be activated by the National Walk office. I'm sure Shelia will post more as the date draws closer too.

P E A C E - It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.
