I haven't been on in awhile..life has been busy. But I finally got my approval letter in the mail. I am now just waiting to hear from the doctor's office on when they can set my date. Now, what do I need to do to prepare for the when I come home from surgery.

Congrats !! for post surg I stocked up on broth ,sugar free jello and SF popcicles . Ask your Dr's office for samples of protien ..but I would not stock up on it your taste may change .. I like the unjury unflaverd ( my dr's office carries it or just buy EAS carb control ready to drink from Walmart . It also would not hurt to go ahead and start your vitamins if you are not on one ...my dietition recommended that to me . Good luck and let us know when your date is Laura

Congradulations Lisa, as for vitamins, they have to be complete chewables. Flintstones are hard as bricks, so are the jetsons. They do have complete chewables in gummy bears or something like that at Walmarts. As for protein, I agree with Laura, stick to unflavored right now, add it to your water, soup broth, jello. Rite Aid and walmarts has the same one for $10.99 one scoop is 22 grams. It's unflavored. My taste buds change every week it seems, I can't afford to keep buying different brands each week because of my taste buds changing. So when I need my protein, I stick to unflavored. Most of mine comes in my food, but occationally I need a little extra. May God travel with you on your new journey, Kathy

Thanks for the advice. I want to try and get in the swing things before the surgery so it won't be so tough afterwards. I am excited but scared at the same time. This is going to be a major change but I am ready to face it..As soon as I get a date I will let you know.

Congrats on the beginning of a wonderful and weird journey. My advice stock up on Isopure clear no carb high protein drinks. I got them at GNC and Vitamin Shoppe. I kept up my energy as long as I sipped on these. Next, ask for mouth moisturizer in the hospital if they don't already provide it. It can even be put in your mouth to keep it from drying out (i.e. it is not just lip balm). Keep us informed. Beth B. in Chattanooga

Congratulations! I am still pre-op, surgery on Dec. 11, but I'm sure you will be given lots of advice. I have been trying protein and I agree with everyone about the unflavored. I even have some DaVinci sugar free syrup and I can add that to the unflavored in water when I need something other than the usuals. Good LucK!
