I HAVE A DATE!!!!!!

Hey everyone! I have a date! December 11! The only bad news is that I have to have an open RNY, I can't have the lap due to a previous surgery. But the silver lining is that Dr Houston is going to cut out my big ugly scar with railroad tracks (staple scars) from a previous stomach surgery and give me a nice skinny one with no tracks! But I am scared to death about it being open...any body out there have it open? P.S. Can't wait to see a bunch of you guys tomorrow!

Hi Kym, now I know who just joined my friendship list. Several have had it opened, several Dr.'s do them and they are able to check for a leak test while you are still dreaming. That way you don't have to go without fluids for 24 hours just to have a leak test. My Dr. did my laproscopic and did the leak test while I was still dreaming. Seeing as I am allergic to the Barian Sulfate junk you have to drink. That was a blessing in itself. I can't wait for you to join us on the losers bench. This is so exciting. Ms Me is having her's on Monday. I am sorry you have to have it opened. Just a little longer to heal, but you are strong, you've come this far, just be cautious so you don't end up having an infection. May God travel with you each on this new and exciting journey.
