Hi everyone, I am down to 150 and only have 20 lbs to my goal. As far as I am concerned I am getting to thin, I'm just bones in a lot of areas. Between my high stress level over the past 2 weeks, possible cancer in one of my lymph nodes which comes out on Monday, rejecting one chemo medication and having to get approval for a different kind, now I have hard knots forming on my body mostly in the arms, sides, and top of the thighs. These aren't found in patients who have CML my form of leukemia. It's found more in AML or ALL leukemia patients. So when the lymph node is being removed, my oncologist wants my surgeon to also remove one of the hard knots in my arms as well as a needle biopsy of one if possible, but she wants a whole one removed for her to study. If you don't see me posting for a while, remember my left arm area will be in stitches for a while. If you have any tips on gaining weight after having the bypass, share. I'm doing everything I can and I just keep losing more. According my my oncologist when I saw her 2 wks ago I weighed in at 162.5 and I'm now 150. This is one surgery I would not recommend to anyone who has leukemia or cancer of any form. They don't want you to lose weight when you have to go on chemo. Now I am just bones, and still dropping weight. Watch your CBC blood count, if the white cell wbc is elevated out of normal range, have it investigated. Same if the red cells rbc is lower then normal, investigate it first before having this surgery. I didn't know then what I know now. I'm a CML patient, all my protein goes thru my urine, the weight is coming off to fast, I'm not even trying or working out because I am too tired every day. What I need is some fresh blood as mine is too tired. But I am just above being considered for a blood transfusion. So start asking for copies of your blood work-ups. If you don't understand something, ask me and I'll tell you what it means and where to find the answers. I have copies of everyone of mine since surgery, the ups and the downs of my blood. The danger signs and the good signs. May God be with y'all on your journey's. love Kathy

By the way, the picture was taken on Mother's Day 2006, I weighed 220.8, so you can imagine how thin I am now. Kathy

Kathy, I'm so sorry we ended up not making connections on Sunday. My cell wasn't getting good reception where I was and by the time I got home, you had already headed back. But I do want to check and see what happened to Thor, did he get taken to the pound or another shelter? Did you end up taking him back home? I'd like to take him if you still have that need. Please let me know. Toni
