Hi Wendy and welcome to our board. Regarding protein shakes, wait until after surgery to start those, your taste buds will change. What you may like now, you may hate it after surgery. The best thing is to go with the unflavored, as you can add it to your soup, juices, water, scrambled eggs. I haven't tried the little tubes, I did buy a can at Rite Aid Pharmacy for $10.99 unflavored. One scoop is 22 grams of protein. I added it to my soup, and juices. Lately I am just getting it in the food I eat. Take care and May God travel with you on your new journey, Kathy

Hi Wendy! If you are talking about the little 2.9 oz tubes of Liquid Protein then yes I have tried them and as a matter of fact they are all I use. There are 25 grams of protein in each tube so I drink one in the morning, at noon and in the evening and I have my 75 grams of protein for the day. Any that I get in my food is extra. I use the New Whey Liquid Protein Brand made by IDS Sports. They have 2 flavors, Blue Raspberry Swirl and Fruit Punch. They are both good. The Blue Raspberry Swirl tastes just like a blue snowcone. They are yummy and so easy to drink.

Hi Wendy, I will have to agree with Kathy. Dont be gung ho until after surgery because your taste will definitely change. I gave away ALOT of protein powder after surgery..my big mistake. There are 2 kinds of "bullet" protein. Any whey is the one Karen mentioned and PRofect. Profect has more flavors and is really good. It tastes alot like jello that hasnt set up yet. But I would suggest you buy very little before hand and just keep it on hand until afterward. That way you can see what your taste likes. Bariatric Eating has a great protein sample pack you can order that will let you try several and you can see which ones you like and would like to get. It helped me ALOT. Good luck to you.

bariatriceating.com. Yep, they got the samples. I tried several and found some I like that I could purchase locally at the Vitamin Shoppe. There are a couple I order too.
